Knowing your audience helps you prepare the technicality of

your presentation.

Important features

• Not more than one slide per minute (usually 2 minutes)

• Numbered all your slide

• Bullet points (avoid entire sentence)

• Explain more than written in the slide




Important slide tips

• Select contrast background and text

• Select proper font style and size

• Avoid too much animations

• Use figure that can be explained easily

• Avoid text in full capital letter

• Keep consistent slide format and style

• Slide color (neutral, easy to read/see)

• Theme type: professional

• Font size: bigger than 20pts

Text information

• Limit the amount of text

• Make is readable

• Can use different colors to outline a point

• Check your text for errors




Overcrowded slide

This slide is the perfect example that if you write too much text,

then the audience will read your text but at the same time you

will lose their attention and they won’t listen to you anymore. So

in order to avoid losing your audience, limit your slide to few

sentences and make key points, from which you will make your

speech. I can go on and on but there is no point. I think you get

the idea of what to avoid when making slides for presentation.




Figures

• Make your own drawing as much as possible

• Use references if you cannot draw

• Use figure that you can explain

Graphs

• Present the title

• Mention the axis first

• Explain and comment the graph

Equation

• Present both side

• Define the symbols
