Dear Parents,

Short but powerful is what I am aiming for as I write the final newsletter for the 2017 school year.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and an even better New Year! Enjoy the amazing summer with your families, and look after each other.

Term 4 has been a whirlwind of new information, contexts, environment and faces. The more I learn, the more excited I feel about the future. Thank you for welcoming me with open arms. Now it is time to get on with the job and make our little school the absolute best that it can be.

To our gorgeous year 6 students, I wish you all the very best.

Those who have walked by my office will know that the tunes are always playing, so please, sing this one out loud……

The only way is up!!!

Thank you to President Michelle Walker-Fox, and our loyal members of the Parents and Friends Community for all of the incredible work planning and managing so many different PFC jobs & events throughout the year. Thank you also to our School Council President Liz Shewan and our school council parent representatives who are wonderful supporters of our school. Thank you to all those who have volunteered their precious time in so many ways: in the classroom, PBL, PMP, canteen, uniforms sales, incursions, excursions, camps and the list can go on and on. We are so very grateful for your support. Thank you to those parents who leave us at the end of 2017. Your contributions over the many years are so appreciated and your legacies will remain. Thank you to everyone who makes Research Primary School a wonderful community to be a part of. You are all crucial to the running of our lovely school and we appreciate what you do to no end.

3/4 FRIDAY ARVO CLUBS

Thank you to the following parents who helped us to facilitate the Grade 3/4's Friday Arvo Clubs sessions:

Mary-Lynn Griffiths, Nadia Lapadula, Raf Merino, Lisa Miraglia, Michelle Walker-Fox, Marion Stockdale, Clara Stockdale, Nadine Humphreys and David Kean.

The clubs were a huge hit with the students and they enjoyed discovering many new talents as well as further enhancing their own skills. We are so fortunate here at Research Primary School that we have such a wonderful and supportive community who are willing to give up their time to assist us in providing their children with a variety of experiences and opportunities. LIBRARY NEWS

Please return all outstanding library books back this week ready for our students to use next year. Notes of overdue books were sent home yesterday. Chapter books can be borrowed for holiday reading. Karen Cochrane

PARENTS & FRIENDS COMMUNITY (PFC) ROUND UP

Thank you to everyone who has donated for the Christmas raffle and purchased tickets. The hamper prizes look amazing and will be on display outside the office from tomorrow.

Thank you to all coordinators and everyone who has helped and supported all PFC fundraisers and activities this year. It has been a busy year with a variety of activities and fundraisers. The shades sails for the big playground have been ordered and were paid using the funds raised from the Colour Run. Our last meeting for the year was last Friday where a number of different fundraisers and social events were discussed for next year. We look forward to another great year next year and announcing a number of new fundraising ideas.

HOLIDAY CARE AVAILABLE AT RPS OSHCLUB – 29 & 30 JANUARY 2018 Would you be interested in booking into OSHClub for Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th January? Holiday care can be available from 7am – 6.30pm.
