I would love to see hiking/walking trails available to the public.Part of the issue with tours is that they are very unprofessional. They are run, I assume, by a group of hobbiests but are not done in a professional way and so do not encourage people to come back or tell others. I love history but was very disappointed and disappointed in the way Rippavilla is run. Before you even talk about what events you want to do, you have to decide if you want it to be professional or not. If not, nothing will matterFamily Reunion of enslaved descendentsIncreased hiking trails around the property. festivalsfestivalscar shows Truck meetsTractor shows Car shows / corn maze Car showscorn mazecar showsLove the idea of having readily available and maintained hiking trails open to the public.Museums

A beautiful place to take people to eat or have holiday meals in a place that isn’t a chain What would be the return on investment on each of these? Rippavilla has lost money for a dozen years. We have raised taxes and utility fees because we can't support infrastructure requirements. We need any money spent to make Rippavilla self sustaining or would should realize that we have higher priorities.Convert the larger barn or the one with the best structure into a community theater/musical event venue with additional community space for art classes and meeting rooms. We need to support the arts! When in consideration for repairing trauma from the Rippavilla campus. Minority preference for events and vendors.

Emphasis should be to focus on the historical preservation of the site and not turn it into a commercial operation as the last four items would suggest.

Multiple walking trails for exercise and views of nature and history would be a great addition.I envision a combo of Cheekwood and petting zoo/livestock to go with time period. I would love to see camp sites and a return of the corn maze with a pumpkin patch. Homeschoolers are begging for these.absolutely no livestock on the property—that is a BIG liabiity and someone would have to see to the animals and care for them.....Permanent exhibit around Slave/Enslaved cabin with specifics honoring those lives. fishing pond fishing pondfishing pond

Even a nine hole pitch and putt! Something the whole family can enjoy ! 3 Sep 04 2020 05:06 PMIt is a beautiful part of our history. Being only a few remaining, it would be a sad event for it not remain as a memorial for all the present and future generations to visit at it's best. Thank you for allowing public input.4 Sep 04 2020 04:08 PMWe love Rippavilla and always bring family and friends from out of town to visit and do tours. It is a special place and we hope it will remain available for tours and expand in a tasteful way to incorporate events, gardens, etc. that will help with revenue & interest. Thanks so much!5 Sep 03 2020 11:37 PMN/A6 Sep 03 2020 09:24 PMFeels like civil war plantations may be getting more awkward bc BLM. And it's fair and I don't know how this area adapts. Hate to see us invest in a dying attraction model.7 Sep 03 2020 12:26 PMKeep it vintage please and keep Base Ball. It’s one of the few wholesome events left in Spring Hill. 8 Sep 03 2020 11:10 AMMany families are looking for a place to ride there bikes all together. Please add a long paved loop. 9 Sep 03 2020 09:57 AMMore easily accessible restrooms

10 Sep 03 2020 08:47 AMstop canceling fund raisers, or you will go broke. The outside Ball should be held.

11 Sep 03 2020 08:26 AMRippavilla belongs to all Maury Co. The

History nature should stay same. Highlight the early history of the area, pioneer to early agriculture. Do Not cover in concrete , gravel , asphalt and I personally think a group should visit Realfoot Homestead to see how to do it the right way.12 Sep 02 2020 09:22 PMwould be willing to help plan events13 Sep 02 2020 09:04 AMdon't make it so expensive that people can't afford to attend events.14 Sep 02 2020 07:58 AMPlease incorporate more trails into the park. Eastern flank park in Franklin is a great example. Spring Hill is short on good parks with walking trails and it would be nice to have Rippavilla as another public use park in a way.15 Sep 02 2020 06:33 AMMore publicity on your events. I’m in Brentwood and hadn’t heard of many of them.16 Sep 01 2020 06:57 PMNo17 Sep 01 2020 06:44 PMI understand adult events bring much needed funding but consider the funding from homeschool families or drop big bucks and travel for fieldtrip events to cheekwood, corn mazes, apple orchards, pumpkin farms, and even cow milking events. Add in activities such as farm equipment to climb on and explore and we have a winner. I petsonally would love more walking/running trails and even open space for activities that require field space. The ball fields are great for our teams but the homeschool families seek to be able to go play not on a team but as families. For this we are shut off from.access so an area for community to enjoy family/friends lay baseball during day would be great. Big dreams but for now bringing back the corn maze and adding pumpkin patch or hayrides would be great.18 Sep 01 2020 02:32 PMThe property is too precious not to do something meaningful.19 Sep 01 2020 01:41 PMThe distillery/tasting would be a good boost for the area 20 Sep 01 2020 12:15 PMA local distillery/winery would be amazing. I would love for some thing to happen to the property other than the current state. It seems so under utilized. 21 Sep 01 2020 11:33 AMSpring Hill needs an event venue for families and adults 22 Sep 01 2020 11:33 AMI would much rather see historical events than anything else 23 Sep 01 2020 10:43 AMPrefer focus on useful space, doesn’t have to be for fancy events - maybe find ways to allow normal use of natural and historic spaces.24 Sep 01 2020 09:58 AMI would like to see an area available for 5O1C3 to meet monthly at no charge. 25 Sep 01 2020 09:37 AMRippavilla could be an outstanding arts center in addition to a wedding/special events venue. Supporting the arts should be a priority of the planning and design team.26 Sep 01 2020 09:03 AMDon’t ruin it by going overboard. Keep it Historic. 27 Sep 01 2020 08:43 AMStop whitewashing ( pun intended) this history of this place. Either tell the story of how humans enslaved other humans and how we are still living in the afermath of that today or tear the place down. The arcitecture and all of that "nice" stuff that makes you feel like its worth preserving means NOTHING. 28 Sep 01 2020 08:35 AMseems Rippavilla on right path already.....29 Sep 01 2020 08:20 AMThank you for bringing Rippavilla to life.30 Aug 29 2020 11:21 AMI would say the number one area that needs a complete overhaul and that is your marketing. You are part of a community of over 40,000 residents and the majority know nothing about Rippivalla nor have they ever set foot there. Dominate your backdoor first and watch the support increase. You need marketing help that understands the significance of identifying your specific signature offering and exactly who your customer avatars are. It's clear from the past approach and programing this has not been vetted well which causes confused marketing and poorly focused marketing which leads to a lack of success and a waste of time and money.31 Aug 28 2020 03:47 PMThis development does not take into account the residents and citizens with ancestral heritage where the enslaved were a bulk of the story of all aspects of the Plantation. The enslaved created the buildings, farmed the agriculture, were treated with trauma through the antebellum south and never saw and repair to the lives lost and continue to be traumatized. This project needs some work to include not just an updated story, but turning the page and causing some impactful repair. 32 Aug 28 2020 09:59 AMProtection of the property should be a priority like the Carnton Plantation verses what has occurred around the Carter and Lotz homes.

For those who are local and have never been to Rippavilla, it would be a way to get them to the property or let them learn what is available.

If the intent is to preserve the historical nature of the property and the surrounding property into perpetuity might I suggest not looking at what other historical homesites have done. However, look towards an institution, which I have known my entire life, for ideas and preservation techniques and interpretation of history. The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village has preserved American History from the foundation of our country to today. With over 3 million historical artifacts, machinery and buildings. Items which include agriculture, JFK Presidential Limousine, Ford Theater Chair which President Lincoln was assassinated, Rosa Parks, Thomas Edison Menlo Park, Wright Brothers Bicycle Shop, Locomotives, etc.
