BROADCAST MESSAGES

Capitol Place has a Public Announcement (PA) system that can be heard in all common areas including the fitness center, movie theater, recreation deck, and inside each unit. In the event of an emergency, a Capitol Place employee will be making periodic announcements on the broadcast system with directions for residents or updates on the emergency.

FIRST RESPONDERS

All Capitol Place Residential Specialists are trained first responders for medical assistance. This includes First Aid, CPR and AED certification. If you need immediate assistance, please call the Security Desk at 695-2000.

Persons with Disabilities

Please advise Capitol Place Management of any physically challenged disability that might hinder your ability to react in case of emergency. Capitol Place is equipped with Evacu-Trac chairs to help persons that are physically challenged from the building in case of an evacuation.

GENERAL EVACUATION

• Listen to the P.A. Broadcast • In some cases (fire, bomb threat, gas,

chemical), it may be necessary to evacuate either partially or fully from the building.

• Vertical evacuation- moving lower floors to upper floors

• Shelter in place- You may be directed to stay in your unit (tsunami, hurricane). In case of hurricane, stay either in a safe room (a bathroom) or the stairwells as directed.

• Full evacuation- Move out of the building and walk across the street to our assembly area on the grounds of Saint Andrew’s Cathedral as shown in the diagram.

• Check in with Capitol Place staff. Public Shelters near Capitol Place:
