Location

Location is often quoted as the single most important factor in deciding

which property to buy and this house can only be described as being in

a superb position. It is set in a very pretty rural spot with the nearest

other house being around 770m (nearly half a mile away). There are

views across a gently rolling landscape of farmland and onto the vast

areas of woodland which is a particular delight in autumn with the

beech trees turning. Whilst having this rural idyll, the house is not far

from amenities with the very well served village of East Harling just a

The Property

Langsky started its life as a gamekeeper's cottage and is believed to

have been part of the Garboldisham Estate. It is thought to have

been built in the mid 19th century and has been extended since to

provide a comfortable family home for the present owners for the

last 45 years or so. During this time the property has been well

cared for but it is fair to say that there is room for further

improvement and given the extent of the plot there is certainly

room to extend (subject to obtaining the usual planning

permissions). The rooms are all spacious and bright with quite

generous ceiling heights throughout.

Outside

This house is set well back from the road with a long private drive

leading past its woodland strip on one side and the fenced grass

paddock on the other. Near to the house are various outbuildings

including a Nissen hut 16'9 x 16' approx used as garaging with

double wooden doors, concrete floor and power, and a traditional

range of brick and tiled outhouses which would have been the

former wash house (still retains its fireplace and wash copper) and

two stores. The garden surrounding the house is grassed with

various bushes and trees making this an easy area to look after.

Directions

From Diss heading west on the A1066 towards Thetford. In

Garboldisham beside the Fox Inn turn right and follow the road

towards East Harling for 1.6 miles and the driveway to Langsky is

on the left hand side just after a wooded belt.

From the A11 turn off signed to East Harling and continue straight

through the village, down the hill and around the sharp left hand

bend. At the top of the rise the driveway to Langsky is on the

right.
