This Course FeaturesThe elbowroom and The elbowroom escape are delighted to bring you a unique 200-hour

beginners yoga teacher training course. Spread over three months, each student will embark

on a journey of becoming a yoga teacher with an emphasis on health and wellbeing through, on integrative yoga practices, organic healthy

meals, self-development work and an emphasis on self-care.

Your home for the course will be at the stunning elbowroom escape. Featured as one of the best retreat spaces and places to unwind in The Irish

Times, image magazine and many other publications, this luxury woodland lodge will also give you time to

unwind and connect with nature.

Spread over three months, each of the modules will afford you the opportunity to immerse yourself in your teacher training whilst giving you time to practice your

teaching skills in preparation for your journey as a safe, confident and vibrant yoga teacher.

The course is passionately and skillfully led by The elbowroom founder, Lisa Wilkinson E-RYT 500, SYT. Lisa has over 20 years of yoga teaching experience

and over 30 years of bodywork and anatomy training, and deep and experienced knowledge of how yoga

and meditation heal the body and mind.

As well as an inspiring practitioner, Lisa is a gifted communicator and has guided thousands of students

and new teachers into the art of Yoga. With a wide knowledge of many styles of yoga, she weaves

together her knowledge of Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Pilates, Restorative, Myofascial and Scaravelli into the most

appropriate yoga for each body. Her classes are intuitive, creative and always fun.

How to practice and teach Hatha, Vinyasa flow, Yin and restorative yoga establishing an essential foundation for a centred and sustainable yoga practice.

Teaching methodology - Teaching techniques for excellent and effective communication

Principles of instruction through demonstration, observation, assisting, modifying and safely adjusting.

How to create different sequences that nourish yet challenge you and your students.

How to sequence classes with different emphasis whilst maintaining the integrity of a yoga practice.

How to meditate and build mental health resilience and deal with stress and anxiety

How to practice simple but powerful pranayama techniques.

Understanding anatomy, the intrinsic structure of the body, and how this is applied to yoga.

To recognize imbalances in students and learn how to address them.

The subtle pranic body, the very life-force that sustains us, including the bandhas, the chakras and the nadis.

The broader context of yoga philosophy, its foundations, its developments, and how it may apply both to your practice and inspire your teaching.

Understanding of the ethical guidelines of yoga and how these may inspire your practice, your teaching and your students!

Successfully working as a yoga teacher or centre owner

Plant-based cookery and baking

Healing your body and mind with lifestyle changes and habit forming & how to grow food

Throughout the duration of the training, in addition to full participation, each student will be required to observe and, if appropriate, assist in yoga classes.

Students will also be required to demonstrate continuous attendance at local classes. Each student will have to demonstrate at least 2 years of continuous practice of yoga in order to be eligible for the course, ensuring a proficient standard and level of teaching.

Each student will be sent an application form and will be expected to take part in an online interview with Lisa.

Each student will be expected to hand in 1 pre-training assessment per week and a final assessment for the last week. Additional reading lists will be provided before the course.

The course is marked with continuous assessment and graded teaching practicums. Each successful student will graduate with a Teaching Certificate for 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training and can register as an RYT200 with Yoga Alliance UK.

Payment plans are available to spread the cost of your training throughout the year.

Once approved, a non-refundable deposit of €400 is required to secure your place. The

balance is due before the course starts.
