Research History Stratospheric ozone measurements are made using Brewer spectrophotometers and ozonesondes. Ozonesonde measurements have been conducted at Resolute Bay since 1966, making the Canadian record associated with this site the longest in the world. An AEROCAN monitoring station measures optical properties of aerosols. AEROCAN is a sub-network of AERONET run by NASA. Measurements of surface concentrations of certain air pollutants were initiated at this site in 2013/14 to assess the impact of emissions from ships in the Canadian Arctic.
