RECOMMENDATION ON THE MINIMUM NORMAL RANGE OF MAIN AND RESERVE TRANSMITTERS

(relevant to Regulation 9(g), Chapter IV of the International Convention for the Safety of Life

at Sea, 1960)

The ma.in and reserve ·transmitters shall, when connected to the main aerial, have a m.i.niL l'W!l normal range as speclfied below, that is to say, they must be

capable of transmitting clearly perceptible signals fron ship-to-ship by d.a.y and under noroa.l conditions and circUDOtcinces over the specified ra.ngcJ/. (Clearly perceptible signals will norcally be received if the fil.lS value of the field strength at the receiver ie ~t lenst 50 oicrovolts per netrc.)
