COURSE DESCRIPTIONThis program is designed to provide new information and skills for the physician, advanced practice nurse, and healthcare provider who treat children. The format of the course is varied including lectures, question and answer sessions, informal luncheon seminars and workshops on selected topics, with the opportunity for registrant participation.
CONFERENCE GOALS1. Provide the physician, advanced practice nurse, and healthcare provider who treat children with current and practical information dealing with the procedures that may be useful in their general practice.2. Provide a series of presentations by distinguished guest faculty specializing in the fields of Pediatric Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Emergency Medicine, and Infectious Diseases.3. Provide pediatric-specific updates in the fields of: Billing/Coding, Bleeding/Clots, Cancer Survivorship, Cardiology, Child Abuse, Podiatry, Depression, Dermatology, Radiology, Social Media, and Travel Medicine.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITThe Long School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education to physicians.
The Long School of Medicine designates this live activity up to a maximum of 15.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accepts certificates of attendance for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME.
Healthcare professionals receiving a certificate of attendance should consult with their licensing board for information on applicability and acceptance.
† Texas Medical Board: Select sessions qualify for medical ethics and/or professional responsibility credit.
MOC Part II Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 15.00 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. The Long School of Medicine Office of Continuing Medical Education will submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
