INTRODUCTION TO ELECTRONIC TEARSHEETS

Welcome to Electronic Tearsheets, the San Francisco Chronicle's newsystem for delivering tearsheets! This program uses the Internet andPDF imaging technology to greatly improve the way you receive copiesof your Chronicle advertising.

ELECTRONIC TEARSHEETS BENEFITS:

• Speed Of Delivery

Electronic Tearsheets are delivered electronically on the day ofpublication. An email will be sent to you with links to your onlineElectronic Tearsheets. No longer will you have to wait 2-3 daysfor tearsheets to arrive in the mail!

• Ease Of Printing

Electronic Tearsheets are easy to print and download. You canprint as many copies as you need. You can also download andsave the Electronic Tearsheets as a PDF document (which canthen be sent as an email attachment, for example).

• Information Features

On the Electronic Tearsheets Preview page you will see detailedpublication information, including page, section, color informationand so much more!

• Storage

Electronic Tearsheets are archived online and will be available forup to one full year from date of publication.

GETTING STARTED

• Set up an account by visiting the following website:http://www.tearsheets.sfchronicle.com

• Click on the "SIGN ME UP FOR A LOGIN" link and fill out theform on the next page.

• An email will be sent to you with a username and password foruse when logging into the main website.

• You will begin receiving notification emails whenever you run anad in the Chronicle. These emails contain links to connect youdirectly to the online tearsheets for your ads from that day.

• If you do not receive a notification email, you will be able toaccess the Tearsheets site using your username and password.The site to visit to log-in is:

• Here is an example of what an Electronic Tearsheet will look likewhen you click the link in the notification email:

• Notice that there is a picture of the printed Chronicle page on theright, and publication information on the left. Simply clicking onthe picture will launch Acrobat Reader (version 5.0 or higher isrequired) and display a full-sized PDF version of your ad! It's thateasy!

PRINTING AN ELECTRONIC TEARSHEET

• After opening the Electronic Tearsheets, you can print the pageby clicking on the PRINT button or selecting PRINT from theFILE menu.

PRINTING AN ENLARGED VIEW

• On the FULL PAGE VIEW, select the ZOOM TOOL.

• CLICK AND DRAG a box around the ad you want to enlarge.

• Click on FILE and select PRINT.

• Select the CURRENT VIEW option.

• CLICK PRINT. You will get a printout of the EXACT view you hadon the screen.

SAVING AN ELECTRONIC TEARSHEET AS A PDF

• After opening the Electronic Tearsheet, save the page as a PDFdocument by clicking on the SAVE button. Once saved as adocument, you will be able to email it as an attachment.

OTHER FEATURES:

• A search function allows you to see up to 12 months of onlinetearsheets for your advertisements. The system will beginaccumulating Electronic Tearsheet records as soon as the serviceis launched.

• A ruler that allows you to measure the height and width of yourad.

• The ability to scroll through all of the pages in the section whereyour ad appeared.
