Provide authoritative protocol advice and assistance to the Command’s senior leadership for numerous robust national level events. Coordinate event sites, caterers, entertainment and ensure that the DOD and Authorized Guest List are always up to date and legal. HANDLE ALL THE INVITATIONS FOR THE COMMANDING GENERAL by submitting an event information sheet that includes all the five W’s. Research country information, cultures and customs, and include any other pertinent information to ensure the Commander is represented correctly. Responsible to RSVP for all events and coordinate with the drivers to ensure a re-con is conducted and that the uniform is prepared for the event.

FOSTER RELATIONSHIPS with internal and external partners within the National Capital Region. Maintain constant communication with interagency directorates, foreign military attaches, component Commanders and their Senior Enlisted Leaders, Civilian Aides to the Secretary of the Army, congressional staffers, and to Headquarters DA staff. Continuously search for up and coming dignitaries that can be a value added asset to the organization. Support outside agencies with requested support on how to coordinate a formal ceremony by assisting with scripts, seating charts, movements of senior leadership and programs.

MANAGE THE ARMY’S REPRESENTATIONAL FUNDING for the fiscal year. Maintain records and keep an accurate amount of spending. Always obtain legal reviews for each program and follow the guidelines outlines in AR 37-47. Serve as the designated ORF government purchase card holder and prepare all the necessary documentations through GFEBS for events; i.e., purchase requests or contracts. Responsible to track the coin and gift inventory for the Commander.

RESPONSIBLE TO SET UP THE JOINT PROTOCOL CELL for when there is a state funeral and be the protocol lead for the motorcade that travels from the airport, through the city, to the national cathedral, to the Capital and back. Responsible for 12 escorts to assist with movements for the Joint Chiefs and spouses, honorary pallbearers and their family members and for the clergy. Have trained for this event several times and ready to execute when necessary.

+Established an organized structure on how to handle all incoming invitations by designing an event information sheet that contains all the necessary information concerning the event. Maintain statistics on how many events, how many regrets and accepted, for use in any installation status review.

SERVE AS A LIAISON BETWEEN GERMAN AND AMERICAN COMMUNITIES for outreach programs and quality of life functions, which have a significant impact on the military strategy. Ensure that Germans-Americans participate in events in order to enhance the understanding of each other’s cultures, minimize prejudices, and continue the fostering of friendships between the two nations.

DIRECT ASSIGNED STAFF in planning, organizing, and conducting community events and VIP visits. Determine personnel required to support functions. Determine and set priorities and goals; assign tasks; and monitor completion of tasks. + Singularly instrumental in building and maintaining relationships between host nation authorities and US personnel with the ability to resolve issues through open lines of communication and one phone call. Successfully assisted the Commander in establishing a personal relationship with all Lord Mayors, Mayors, District Mayors, and County Commissioner. Successfully established a mutual trust and gained unprecedented support of the German community which has assisted the diverse American community of over 24,000 service members and their families. Successfully cultivated the two cultures, building on partner capabilities and fostering great teamwork.

+Recognized as an expert in protocol and special events, receiving frequent requests for protocol guidance from internal tenant organizations. Selected twice as a guest speaker for Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR) Component Commander’s Conference to provide formal training for senior spouses on protocol etiquette and rules, receiving laudatory reviews. Solely coordinated several change of command receptions and train a team of workers to support the function. Have received several coins and compliments from senior level, state department, Ambassadors and foreign dignitaries for my "attention to detail" when coordinating their lodging, dinner, transportation and any other particulars while visiting the community.

+Established an advance notification system for shooting noises, SOCEUR’s parachute jumps into towns, and airport noise, reaping big dividends for the community and reducing complaints from several a day to absolutely none. This sharing of information has led the Garrison to receive better press releases and several thank you letters. + Plan and execute at least four major German-American events per year (with attendance of over 300 guests per event). Received a best in Army, Department of the Army Excellence in Management Award in recognition of one of the Culture Night programs.

+Recognized as a “go-to” person for information on activities occurring in the surrounding host nation neighborhood. Established a database of all community members, providing them current information on on-base/off-base activities. Publicly recognized and thanked by several tenant senior leaders this initiative.

+ Contributed to the improvement of US-German relations by creating tours of the Garrison for resident organizations within 16 neighboring towns, thus dispelling suspicions as to what was behind the Garrison’s fence line, and by establishing solid working relationships with various host nation organizations such as the noise abatement office and traffic control, the forestry department, the Israeli Religious Association, marketing offices, tours and travel offices, environmental branches, and historical landmark associations. Based on a four-star general request, successfully arranged for the USAREUR Army Band and Chorus to perform a concert off-base for Baden-Wuerttemberg’s anniversary and getting the city to support the costs.

SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR PLANNING AND EXECUTING 20 LOCAL NATIONAL/ INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS AND SOCIAL EVENTS with military and civilian dignitaries which included ceremonial events, dinners, conferences, ice breakers, and receptions. Designed and mailed invitations, tracked attendance, developed menus, prepared itineraries, provided hotel accommodations, arranged proper seating charts, set up facilities, coordinated transportation, adhered to foreign protocol standards and secured event funding.
