The Toledo Design Center is a public agency that promotes design and planning excellence in Northwest Ohio. The organization is composed of the region’s leaders in design and planning that offer their expertise to ensure quality and sustainable development practices are utilized. As a Cooperative Education Student at the Toledo Design Center I accomplished the following: • Developed a comprehensive plan for the formation of the Maumee River Trail. This is a 10-mile multi-

purpose trail that runs parallel to the Maumee River’s coastline and will connect a majority of Toledo’s historic neighborhoods to its urban core and regional assets. A portion of the trail was awarded funding by the City of Toledo in 2013.

The City of Toledo, Division of Engineering Services is responsible for the planning and maintenance of public utilities and transportation systems.
