Prepared and Presented Flight Readiness Review presentations to Flight Readiness Review boards. Led effort to design, propose and build the first Ares nozzle planned as the replacement for the space shuttle. Managed transition from Ares to SLS program involving significant downsizing.

Led the effort to replace all the nozzle adhesives with one new adhesive due to obsolescence. Implemented significant cost and reliability improvements in the nozzle joints by replacing RTV back fill with a carbon fiber rope thermal barrier.

Coordinated vendor support of aggressive schedules. Developed and executed implementation and qualification plans to bring new facilities online. Provided integration between tooling, facilities and test hardware for startup on a new test stand. Presented new procedures to NASA Marshall Space Flight Center representatives for approval. Supervised critical handling operations and crane moves.

Welding Engineer, Space Shuttle Main Engine (SSME) 1983-1984Provided engineering support for welding problems during the fabrication of Liquid (SSME’s). Wrote procedures, specifications, test plans, and reports. Programmed CNC electron beam, laser, and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding equipment. Supervised operation of electron beam and laser welders. Reviewed NDT results and determined repairs required. Provided support to sub-contractors on welding related problems.
