I joined HSBC in Sept 2007 as Head of Testing for Global Banking and Markets (GBM), Group Private Banking

(GPB) and Global Asset Management (AMG) and leading a team of more than 350 testing professionals.

utilization and standardizing processes in testing across various functions. Successfully set up automation labs which

I was in-charge of the Business Service Management (BSM) arm of Wipro as a Quality Assurance Manager. This unit

focused on providing IT Service Management based services to its customers. BSM primarily focused on financial

institutions and Corporates such as Standard Chartered Bank, United Overseas Bank and Reliance – to name a few.

Key activities entail managing multiple projects, estimation, scheduling and ensuring timely deliveries. Participated in

audits and was involved in streamlining the process for end-to-end testing.

Identitymine Software Pvt Ltd

Test Manager Apr 2005 – Nov 2005 (8 months) | Cochin, India

Identitymine is a Microsoft partner and involved in providing interactive and user experience company primarily on

natural user interface (NUI). As Microsoft introduces new utilities, Identitymine provided with requirements which

are then designed to web scenarios for users to understand its usage. These were then showcased by Microsoft for

their TechEd’s.

Another major contribution was on a content management sytem called Microsoft Press Pass, that was used by

Microsoft for internal communication and news releases.

As a QA Manager, I led the Quality Assurance team of 4, ensuring the integrity of the applications developed by the

team. My responsibility also included the design and implementation of QA policies and procedures.

ART Technologies

Test Manager Jul 2004 to Mar 2005 (12 months) | Cochin, India

Art Technology & Software is a provider of quality IT software solutions to the global market. As a Test Manager,

was involved in test management of multiple projects spread across a variety of industries such as Media and

entertainment, ecommerce solutions, Sports. In addition, was given the responsibility of setting up processes and

getting the ISO 9001:2000 certification. This was attained in a span of 4 months.

Mobile solution for merchandise: Retailer with over 100 outlets in leading sports & leisure centers across UK and in

major high street across UK had a big challenge for their inventory control due to the constant movement of stock

across the cubes. They were also severely limited due to the lack of IT infrastructures at the cubes. For their business

model to succeed, it was vital that accurate stock level information of various cubes was available in real time at the

head office and for the merchandisers to restock the items. The merchandisers then moved the stock around in van

with the stock for cubes and followed a laborious process of restocking the cubes due to lack of real time information.

A customized mobile solution developed using .Net and c Sharp was designed and this enabled the merchandisers to

perform the stock control activities at the cubes. The stock information was communicated via GPRS through a hosted

web service to the head office. This meant the head office was able to see all the stock movement across the enterprise

in real time. Additional features included different user profiles, new stock creation etc.

Online Media (DVD) Rental: The online DVD rental system was developed with Microsoft C Sharp and SQL server.

It also had an inbuilt content management system so that the site administrators could manage the site content easily.

Microsoft Retail Management System (RMS): Microsoft RMS is a complete POS solution for small and midsize

retailers operating everything from a single store to a whole chain. It is comprehensive and scalable for those

businesses focusing on significant growth. Many retailers would need customization on the off the shelf product for

their mode of operations.

Advanced Software Technology, Cochin,

Test Lead Mar 2000 – Jun 2004 (4 years, 4 months) | Cochin, India

Advanced Software Technology is a global IT Service provider to small and mid-sized companies, government and

nonprofit organizations around the world. I was instrumental in building the Quality Assurance team and worked as

Test Lead with a team of nine. As a Test Lead in the company, I got the opportunity to work on multiple technologies

(web as well as client server) and multiple domains. This included preparing the test strategy, planning, task

allocation, defect management and automation.

Assyst E-Mall: This is an e-commerce project done for our overseas division and the parent company Assyst

Inc., Virginia. This application allows you to browse through a host of stores, each one offering you a wide range

of products. Each store has a shopping cart and facilities to make online payment through cyber cash. Each store

can administer the site through the admin section provided for each store.. This application was developed using

ColdFusion and JavaScript as the scripting tools and MS SQL Server 7 in the backend.

SACIR: This system is for Insurance company (SACIR) which is capable of creating new clients, their details as

invoices, internally allocating premium payments, rating and tracking the start, length, and termination of policies

and coverage’s. The Second Module is implemented to serve benefit-processing needs of SACIR. The system can

capture data off claims that arrive either in batches from a provider or through an employee, create and manage

Cheque issuing.

E-hotels: This is an online hotel reservation website customized for the people anywhere in the world to reserve

hotels in India during their visit to India. They can also browse through the hotel lists, get room details and room

picture, room rent and search hotels through this site. It uses Cybercash to facilitate online credit card payment.

The administrative application in the system helps the Site Administrator to control the hotel reservations and

cancellations. This site used HTML, ColdFusion, IIS and MS SQL Server.

Center Operations Management: This is a client-server based application developed for management of the

various franchisees of a computer institute. It was developed using PowerBuilder and MySQL.

NIH: This web-based application was developed tne nonprofit organization providing information on health,

grants, training and news events.

Assyst Suite: This web-based application is for managing the marketing department as well as maintaining the

clients for a contracting company. It has been developed using Java and Sybase SQL server.

Payroll: Tested the payroll package, which takes care of the entire salary calculation for multiple departments,

multiple divisions of a company. Its features include tax calculation, year-end processing, etc. This application

was developed using PowerBuilder and SQL Anywhere.

Sprint Store: This ecommerce application is for managing the distribution network, purchase & sales of products

as well as maintaining the clients. It has been developed using PHP and Sybase SQL server.

In the Tata Tea Carry & Forward Management System is an online interface to centralize information but

decentralize day-to-day decisions and activities being carried out in the system. The system has provision for

handling loading of goods, stock transfers, and invoicing. The system was developed using Cold Fusion and MS

Sql server.

SLib (Library Management System) for FEDO was involved in the planning and testing of a Library management

system. The system is capable of storing information about books, journals and standards, members and has

provision for reserving books through the FEDO intranet. The system was developed using VB 6.0, MS SQL

Server, and ASP.

ATS (Attendance Tracking System) was involved in the planning, testing and documenting of Sprint's Attendance

tracking system. This system stores the reporting time and the leaving time of the staff and tracks the number of

leaves of the employee. A web interface enables the staff to store reporting time from individual machines. The

system was developed using Visual Basic 6.0 and Oracle 8 as the database.

White & Black Inc an Internet based application was developed using PHP and MySQL. This site is mainly used

as an informational site. Basic Business process involved are customer feedback, employment opportunities in the

corporate office as well as in the store locations, customer registration, searching for stores closest to the user's

location and apply for White house Black market Credit card. This site also provides information about the stores

latest happenings etc.

Global Banking Law Database (GBLD) for World Bank in XML, ASP and MS SQL Server is an application

intended to bring the banking laws of various countries online in a central location. The application is mainly

intended for the legal department of World Bank and IMF. This application is a search engine, which can search

the law database on a particular topic, relating to banking laws, for the specified country. It will help the people

across the globe and also those who are working within World Bank and IMF refer and compare the laws for

different countries online.

MGCounty Pension management System This application was developed for Montgomery County catering to

the various pension schemes provided by them to their county citizens. The system was developed in Developer

2000 and Oracle 8i.

HOTSET (web): Hotset is an Organization, which manufactures and sells electrical heating elements for

industrial applications. This system is a part of an ERP system. The system provides a unique login for its

customers. It has got provisions for placing quotes, convert it to an order and keep track of previous quotes etc for

its customers. It is developed using ASP.Net and MS SQL Server.

TRACE - A client server system tracking the violation of Law for Montgomery County, to sell cigarettes to

anyone less than the age of 18. This system is designed to track the inspections and the Citations issued by the

inspectors to the establishments that violate the law. The inspectors check the establishments (Shops) selling

cigarettes to minors. Inspectors do this by sending minors that are employed by the Govt. into the establishments

to buy cigarettes. If the establishment sells cigarettes to the minors then inspector will issue citations to the

establishments. The system was developed using MS Visual Basic 6 as the front end and was compatible with MS

SQL Server 7, MS SQL Server 2000, Oracle 8 and MS Access.

Montgomery County (eMontgomery) The County has several departments and the portal has links to each and

every activity of these departments. The system developed for the Department of Engineering Services caters for

the different new and existing projects .It is used by the County to track all the project details and employees/users

related to the project. It has facility to include/edit different pages/URL for a particular project. Specialties include

different types of reports including Crystal reports, admin section for data and content management. Map tracking

and spell checkers. This is built with ASP and MS SQL Server. Site available at

Fairfax City - The eMessage Alert System (eMAS) is an electronic broadcast system, which enables cities,

countries, states, or major organizations to notify subscribed users of breaking news and events. eMAS is an SMS

site and is based on the fact that a vast majority of mobile phones has the capability to receive short text messages

similar to that of a pager. Any user with a mobile phone can be the recipient of message alerts broadcasted by the

eMAS system. This was later reworked to incorporate SSL, multiple device connectivity and multiple database

connectivity. Current Version is eMAS 2.1[Developed using ASP, XML, MS Access, MS SQL SERVER,

ORACLE] .The site is available at: www.ci.fairfax.va.us

TDIC Photo Album - Application developed for scanning copying and saving images in the database. Features

like saving selections as hotspots and retrieval incorporated. Application developed exclusively for the Sultan of

Ras Al Khaimah. [Developed using: Visual Basic, MS ACCESS].
