A great resume could be the thing that gives you a leg up on the competition. Your resume

is the best way to present your skills and qualifications to the Cone Health Talent Acquisition team and hiring manager.

Page 3

• Use short one-line sentences when possible.

• Highlight your skills.

• List your accomplishments.

• If possible, keep your resume to two pages.

• Be honest about your qualifications. If you do not possess the required skills, managers will find out during the interview process.

Tips To Build Your Resume

Page 4

Summary Summary - A summary isolates five or six key attributes about your primary qualifications. The summary is placed near the top of your resume. Pick the qualifications that best demonstrate why an employer should hire you and include them in your summary section. It is acceptable to leave off an objective if you use a clear, concise summary.

• Write brief one-line statements. • Use a short phrase to describe your profession. • Follow with a statement of broad or specialized expertise. • Include two or three additional statements related to any of the following:

o breadth or depth of skills. o unique mix of skills. o range of environments in which you have experience.o a special or well-documented accomplishment.o a sentence describing your professional objective or interest.

Work Experience

Work Experience – This section should include company name, your job title, dates of employment and major accomplishments. List yourexperience in reverse chronological order, starting with your most current experience.

• List your accomplishments in bullet rather than paragraph format. Avoid discussing job duties or responsibilities.

• If you do not have a lot of career-related job experience, consider highlighting transferable skills that would be advantageous in the new role.

• Use action verbs when describing your accomplishments.

Education

Education – This section should include school(s) attended (including years of attendance), majors/minors, degrees, and honors and awards received.

• For recent graduates, the education section should appear before the experience section. For others with full-time work experience, the education section should follow your experience section.

• Often, employers want new graduates to include their GPA in this section. List the GPA that puts you in the best light (overall GPA or major GPA).
