Headed an effort to move data to Hitachi SAN storage on different frames. Successfully managed project to install and implement new SunFire M5000 servers, right from the ordering

phase to racking, setting up physical environment, installing, configuring and rollout into production. This involved decommissioning old servers that were replaced with new SunFire M5000s.

Upgraded servers from Solaris 9 to Solaris 10 using Solaris Jumpstart and Live Upgrade utilities. Managed and implemented project to move Solaris and HP servers off Hitachi 9980 USP-V storage to

Hitachi DF600F storage. Used SCLI utility (QLogic drivers) to implement persistent binding.

Lead design and implementation engineer for Consumer/Commercial banking project. Provide ongoing support for a high availability configuration consisting of Sun Enterprise 6800 servers using Sun Cluster software. Responsible for OS migration to Solaris 10; lead engineer involved with SAN storage capacity upgrades and migration from Hitachi 9980 to USP connected storage. Responsible for OS patch maintenance, system controller updates and HBA firmware revisions.

Lead system engineer for the storage robotics infrastructure project (ACSLS). Responsible for the system sizing, configuration and Cluster requirements documentation. Coordinate the install and configuration of an HA solution across 10 different locations using Sun Fire V240 servers, Veritas Cluster Server and Netbackup software. Provide level 2 support for Cluster Server.

Lead and be part of virtual teams for various short term project initiatives such as setting up a repository for scripts developed by the team, and coordinating product upgrades across the enterprise.

Reconfigured layout of LUNS on A3500 from Raid 5 to Raid 0+1 for a production database to improve performance.

Managed setup of high end Sun servers from out-of-the-box to production in colocation site. Provided ongoing support for 150 servers ranging from Ultra10 to E10K. Provided systems support to DBA group for Sybase and Oracle databases. Managed systems and database backups for 150 servers using NetBackup and managed relationship with Iron

Attached and configured EMC and STK disk storage to a SUN Sparcenter 2000E server for in-house evaluation.

Provided on-call support for over fifty servers ranging from a Sparc5 to an E6000. Responded to and handled support calls including failed disk drives, system hangs, system crashes, and full or corrupt filesystems.

Developed and implemented plan for Year 2000 upgrades of Operating System, Solstice Disk Suite, and SPARCStorage Volume Manager. Reconfigured filesystem layout to accommodate additional space requirements for Solaris 2.6.

Provided standard system administration duties including implementing native UNIX security, user and group administration, and SPARCStorage disk array management.
