INPEX LNG • Lead DCS Software Engineer, Site Commissioning
APLNG Upstream Coal Seam Gas
• Centum VP DCS, ProSafe RS SIS, Stardom RTU, and Fast Tools SCADA application for Gas Processing and Water Treatment Facilities, and Gas Wellheads.
• Fast Tools SCADA was adopted late in the project. I was instrumental in developing the SCADA application for the APLNG project. It is now the largest Fast Tools SCADA application in the world.
• Project role from project commencement to completion, involving design, implementation, replication, and technical assistance.
Taichung Power Station, Taiwan
• Centum CS3000 application for 2 x 550MW Coal Fired Boilers. • Implementation and site based commissioning role from
project start though to completion (3 years). • Working with the end user (Taiwain Power Company) in an
advisory role. • Superior performance achieved from these units compared
to the existing 8 generator units located on the same site.

Senior Control Systems Engineer, APLNG Upstream Gas project
Description of Role
• Design role based in the Customers’ offices producing project common software specifications, Gas Plant
software design documentation, and software typical development.
• Because of my knowledge of DCS and SCADA I was providing technical assistance and advice within the team.
• Manage the Gas Processing Facilities software implementation and replication process. This involved
implementation by Yokogawa USA, China, and Brisbane, replication by Yokogawa China, and testing in Brisbane.
Key Achievements
• Assisting with the development of the Fast Tools SCADA for APLNG that was adopted late in the project phase,
helping to make this application the largest Fast Tools application in the world today.
• Instrumental in successfully delivering the Gas Processing Facility DCS and SCADA applications despite many late design changes and schedule pressures.

Project Documentation • Writing and reviewing control system specifications and documentation
for power station projects within Australia and overseas. Power System modelling
• Using Paladin Designbase software. • Created a model of the Mount Isa Power system using information
provided by Mt Isa Power Station and its major customers. • Validation of the model using data from past electrical faults. • The model was used to determine better protection settings for the Mt Isa
power station feeders.

Commissioning Engineer – Taichung Power Station Unit 9&10 (2 x 550MW), Taiwan Description of Role
• Implementation and site commissioning for 53 Centum CS3000 Field Control Stations, 9000 I/O Points controlling two 550MW coal fired generators.
• Spent 3 years (continuous) on site during the construction and commissioning phases of both generator units.
• Responsible for software and hardware issues, system configuration and tuning, Training of the Customer’s personnel, and management of spare parts.
• Configuration and maintenance of the Exaquantum plant Historian. Key Achievements
• Dealing with the customer requirements over the 3 year period, • Assisting in the fine tuning of the DCS which allowed these stations to
deliver a superior performance when compared to the other 8 generator units operating on this site.
Lead Systems Engineer – Plant Control System, Phu-Kham Copper Gold Mine, Laos. Description of Role
• Lead Engineer role covering the full scope of work from initial Software Design, Implementation, Factory Testing, and then assisting the Customer with Site Commissioning.
• System comprising of 15 Centum CS3000 Field Control Systems, with approximately 5000 I/O Points.
Key Achievements • Leading a team of several Engineers to successfully deliver this project on
time and within budget. Lead Systems Engineer – Plant Control System for Cogeneration Boiler & 30MW Generator, Condong & Broadwater. Description of Role
• Lead Engineer Role responsible for Software Design, Implementation, Factory Testing, and Site Support.
• My role also included the designing, documentation and Implementation of the Plant Coordinated Controls, and implementation of Boiler Fuel/Water Controls, and Bagasse Conveyor Controls.
• System comprising of Centum CS3000 Field Control Systems and 1 Safety Control System, 3000 I/O Points.

this project on time and within budget.

I was involved in a wide variety of projects, however some significant projects are listed below. Turbine Control System, 500MW Main Line Generator, Wallerawang Power Station. Description of Role
• Woodward MicroNet TMR control system. • Control System hardware and software design and implementation,
including documentation and drawings. • Develop a customized 3rd party solution for interfacing the control system
to the antiquated hydraulic governor system. • Design, implementation and testing of control system software using
Woodward GAP™. • Develop training material and carry out Customer training. • Produce project documentation, such as system manuals, cabinet and
system drawings (using AutoCAD®). • Carry out site installation and commissioning with the assistance of a site
based Contractor. Gas Turbine and Compressor Control Systems for Santos Moomba Gas Plant. Description of Role
• The system included a total of 6 Woodward NetCon/MicroNet Control Systems, and Intellution SCADA packages.
• Design and implement control system software for the Gas Turbine control to replace the Vendor control system, and incorporating the standard Woodward Compressor Anti-Surge control system configuration.
• Implementation of control system software using Woodward GAP™. • Carry out software testing using Woodward’s plant simulator package. • Carry out site installation and testing, and commissioning of the Gas
Turbine and Compressor anti-surge controls. • Produce project documentation, such as system manuals, cabinet and
system drawings (using AutoCAD®). • Develop and carry out Customer training.
Power Station Control System, Harwood Sugar Mill. Description of Role
• The system included 3 Woodward 505 Turbine Controllers each with Synchronizer and Load Controls, and 2 Citect SCADA stations.
• Load control scheme allowed for import/export control onto the local electricity grid, as well as operation when isolated from the grid.
• Responsible for System design and commissioning. • Produce project documentation, such as system manuals, cabinet and
system drawings (using AutoCAD®). • Develop and carry out Customer training.
