CHEMCLAVE, a unique platform to the students of Chemical Department develop their skill

set such as technical, communication leadership etc.Event CHEMCLAVE 2k16- The State level

Techno-Festival was the most successful event of its kind till today. This year Chemical

Department left the footsteps on sand in claiming the highest number of entries till date.

The team of Chemclave 2k16 hosted a total of 600+ participants including more than 200

participants from various colleges around Gujarat like DDIT, GCET,GEC Valsad, GEC

Bharuch, UTU and many more.

The Techfest has incorporated total 7 technical and non-technical events such as Virtual

placement, Beat the Heat, Paper presentation, Chem-O-Conquer, Chem-O-Legend and Mind

spark.

Pre Chemclave-2k16 event

This time a pre-CHEMCLAVE events had been introduced such as Expert Lecture on “Resume

writing”and a quiz "Chem-o-philia" on 14thSeptember, 2016. The expert for the lecture on “

Resume Making” was M/s Rachita Rasiwasia. This pre- Chemclave event was exclusively for

final year students. The faculty head for this event was Prof. Rashmita Patel. The topics covered

during the lecture: (1) need for resume (2) difference between resume and CV (3) importance of

master resume (4) how to prepare one page resume. So, the purpose of this lecture was to give

them brief introduction about resume preparation so that they can perform better during personal

interview.

Chemclave 2016 event schedue

Inauguration: Inauguration function was organized in TIFAC seminar hall at 8:30 AM on 16th

September, 2016. The Chief Guest for inauguration function of Chemclave-2k16 was Mr

Dhaivat Shah. Prof. (Dr) Rakhi Mehta (HOD) gave welcome speech to all students and faculties.

Prof. Jignesh Joshi gave brief introduction about the chemclave-2k16. The Chemclave-2k16

declared open by the Chief Guest and Prof. (Dr) Rakhi Mehta.

Paper Presentation:

Students present their technical knowledge in the field of chemical engineering.

In this event 16 participation took place which includes 4 from the different colleges. The faculty

heads for this event were Prof (Dr.) Swati Sharma and Prof. Mazhar Multani. The winner of this

event was: Meet B Patel

Beat The Heat:

Introduced for the first time, a purely technical event in which the participants were supposed to

fabricate a working model of a Heat Exchanger and to conduct Heat Transfer practically. The

faculty heads for this event was Prof. Srujal Rana. There were total entries of 16 participants (4

teams).Winners of “Beat the heat” were:

(1) Mrunal Sheth, ChaitaniyaShah, Yash Patel, Parth Bhavsar

Virtual Placement:

This event was exclusively organized for the final year students for giving the exposure of

Campus placements which they would be facing in the short notice. It was a collection of 3

different rounds: Technical Test, Group discussion & also Personal Interview. The faculty heads

for virtual placement were mentioned below.

Chem-O-Conquer:

It is blend of technical and Non-Technical ideas with 3 different rounds. Round 1 the brain

teaser: 1st round was question answer round. Participants have to answer the question through

presentation. 2nd round was the shooting the balloon. After shooting the balloon student has to

collect the namely chemical. Shoot the Loons caught the fame of many and a huge crowd of

spectators were caught amazed of it. 3rd round was the industrial touch; with the chemical found

in round -2, student has to manufacture that chemical product. The required chemicals and

equipments were provided. The faculty head for this event was Prof. Dimpal Master. There were

total entries of 68 teams. The winners for this event were (1)Dhwani Dalal, Heli Patel (2) Rutvik

Public speaking :

This event was purely non-technical event. Every participant has to speak about 5-6 min about

the topic given to them. The topic given them was “Best life experience”

The winners of this event were : Vishwaraj Chauhan, Jasvindersingh Bhatti

Chem-O-Legends:

This is a multiple rounds team event. Each team contains 2 members. This event was based on

partcipant’s chemical engineering concepts, general chemistry, day to day life chemical products

which we use. The faculty heads for this event was Prof. Ashish Parmar. .The event caught

attention of many and ended up with a total of 182 participants and it included around 50

participants from outside SCET. The winners of this event are: (1) Bhaumik Parikh, Juhi Kala

(2) Paramdipsingh Darad, Gharana Sahin (3) Sachi Desai, Dhruti Koshiya

Mind Spark.

This event was purely Non-Technical which included 2 rounds. One has to investigate a Crime

Scene. Participants were seen waiting in queue to take part in it and we are glad to see such a

crowd in the Chemical Engineering Department for the First Time.The event entertained a total

of 214 participants which is the maximum by any Event ever. The faculty head for this event was

Prof. Anshul Sharma. The winners of this event were: (1) Prachi Kukadiya, Dharm Valani (2)

Valedictory function: Valedictory function was organized in TIFAC seminar hall at 3:30 PM on

17th September. The Chief Guest for Valedictory function of Chemclave-2k16 was Mr Dhaivat

Shah and Prof. Rashmita Patel. The prize distribution ceremony was held for all winners of the

various events.
