Bio
I attended one of the most reputable universities of architecture in Europe, ETSAB (School of Architecture of Barcelona). It was at ETSAB that I had the privilege to study under renowned architectural professors like Jordi Badia, Jaime Coll, Antonio Sanmartin, Antonio de Moragas and Lluis Vives among others.
While I was studying, I also completed internships at various architectural firms. At Croquis, I was working on the exhibitions for the Forum of the Cultures in Barcelona. It was this project that helped me to understand the importance of taking care of the finer details. Next I moved to Mind-esign, where I collaborated on 4 bids for social housing in Sant Joan d’Espi, a town next to Barcelona. I enjoyed designing for social housing because of the challenge to create a residence with all the standard criteria, but with a very small budget. You still need to think of a new interpretation of the lifestyle. As a result, some of the best ideas come from designing social buildings.
One of the most exciting opportunities I’ve had as a student was to stay in the Canary Islands to work with Clara Peña. There I assisted on a very im-portant bid to design the new city hall of La Oliva in Fuerteventura. Learning how to transfer the culture of the islands into the design of the building was a great task that we were successfully able to achieve, therefore winning the bid.
I later began my full time career at IDOM, a global company, and one of the largest engineering companies in Spain. I worked as a scholarship holder for 3 years in their architectural division known as ACXT, and after completion, I was hired full time. During my 6 years at ACXT, I designed and managed projects of all different typologies such as, emergency facilities, airports, sport complexes, office buildings, urban planning, housing, etc., and I was a professor of REVIT to my colleagues in Barcelona and Vitoria. I participated in some of the most significant projects at the firm, including the 112 Emergency Building which will be the next main picture of the REVIT products (Autodesk) and the Airport of Natal, Brazil, which was selected for the next Bienal of Sau Paulo.

AcademicFinal Degree Project
University of EnviromentBarcelona, Spain
The erosion is the wear or destruction produced in the surface of a body by the continuous or violent friction of another. An example is the wear that the water of a river produces on a stone formation caus-ing it to break through.
The project is situated at the end-beginning of a natural park. This park connects the old town with the new. The idea is to design a building that doesn’t function like a barrier but as a gateway between the city and the field.
To accommodate the building program, I created 5 buildings that have different functions, and are attached by a main corridor. This 5 buildings are crossed by passageways that arise from the “wear” produced by a continuous flow of people. The pas-sageways are parallel to the buildings and perpen-diculas to the main corridor.

Encants MarketBarcelona, Spain
The conditions of the site, triangular with inclination towards one side, allow us to use the topography to generate two squares at different altitudes. The bot-tom gives access to all the permanent shops whose passable roofs generate the upper square.
One of the main aspects of the project has been to maintain this “idea of square” as a large covered atrium that receives the part of the “more open” pro-gram market and provides the most direct contact with the perimeter streets.
The cover is the protagonist that will give character and unity to the building and strengthening the idea of the market as a public space: open and covered. A deck that is rooted in the Earth, becomes its own square forming an interesting link between square, market and city.

112 Emergency BuildingBarcelona, Spain
In volumetric terms the architectural ensemble fits into different urban scales. On the one hand, the Sagrera axis marks a major alignment, determin-ing an extensive façade which relates with the city, blending in with the highest buildings in Barcelona. On the other, there is a smaller scale, contextual-ized by industrial structures and a future develop-ment of teaching and residential buildings among public open spaces. Faced with this situation, the building represents a stepped response, respecting the heights and volumes of the area.
The functional design strategy is clear: to vertically align working areas. This scheme aids with the development of the administrative program, topped by two levels of greater area corresponding with the dimensions of the heliport on the roof.

Clinic Research BuildingBarcelona, Spain
The purpose of the building program is for Labora-tories (animal facilities), an Institute of Investigation and Surgical Innovation, an Area of Image, and a Reserve.
It will be formed by two volumes. The horizontal piece will be all the scientific work program (inves-tigation and innovation), while the vertical piece will contain all the administrative program and the spaces of relation.
The cover of the horizontal volume acts as a facade of the building that evolves like an extended cloak. This skin floats and adopts soft and fluid forms that evoke the image of the sea.

Barcelona Supercomputing CenterBarcelona, Spain
The new BSC is a project that is generated from a symbiosis between an existing building (parking of Can Girona) and a new emerging volume forming a perfect twinning.
A building that breathes... that oxygenates the resulting urban space... that interacts with public space... that participates with the place. A deeply-rooted, close to the landscape element... which responds to a green, tranquil, pausing envi-ronment.
A building that orders... that acts as the vertebrae... which anchors all the nearby buildings creating a pleasant and harmonious environment.
A building that enhances the whole architecture without giving up the existing landscape.A project that has a logical functionality... that is understandable...

Housing
Reus, Social HousingTarragona, Spain
The building is located in an area of growth, and on a square where 3 other structures close the block leaving free interior space. The building is defined by the geometry of the site and is in the shape of an “L”. It consists of 7 floors of housing and 2 floors of underground parking. It’s main purpose is for social apartments, a ground floor fot commercial space, and interior garden space.
The building has 3 basic objectives; maximum use of space, facilitate industrialization with economic and sustainability improvements, and response to the street-interior duality by adapting each by their conditions of privacy, sunning, noise, etc.

The stadium is situated near a topographic forest depression. The vegetable cover projects the slope and extends the forest mass that slides on the stadium imitating the form of a volcano (the city is near of Pacaya volcano).
The program has some exterior fields and a com-mercial area. The fields unfold around the stadium utilizing the cover for the stands, while the commer-cial area is situated underneath. The project is completed with towers of offices and hotels.

Natal AirportNatal, Brasil
This project consists of a Passenger Terminal based on a system in harmony with the region’s weather, independent of the projects according to the formal imagery of flight (birds bone structure, steel struc-ture of the plane) but without renouncing them. The objective is for the pre-flight experience to become an end, and not a means.
Thus, we depart simple and straightforward as-sumptions (slope roof, skylights triangulated, structure, etc..). As these assumptions are put together, the building is formalized as something proper to Natal.

Favela RehabilitationSao Paulo, Brasil
Our proposal foresees a meticulous study of the areas of risk and of the demands of resettlement. As a result we studied the flood areas, declivities, and new accesses to the road system and to the public equipment. It proposes the redeployment of dwellings and relocation of the inhabitants inside the perimeter and resettlement in other areas of provision.
The proposal of integration foresees the construc-tion of a Linear Park that unites the neighborhood, in search of identity, and appropriation of the public space. It makes feasible the connection to the green corridors and to the corridors of predicted transport in the Regional Plan, helping to control the urban expansion and the undesired occupation.

HHS LibraryHaddonfield, NJ
The Haddonfield Historical Society Library is the building designated to hold the historical docu-ments of the town. It’s placed next to the buildings of the museum, a set of 3 Victorian style buildings. The design for the Library is not to imitate the style of the existing buildings but to be a modern construction. It is a reinterpretation of the Victo-rian style that respects the existing conditions and adapts to the environment.
The Library, situated in the small portion of forest that belongs to the HHS garden, flows between the trees as a fallen trunk. The inside is divided in 2 areas: a closed space with an under control atmosphere where the historical documents are saved, and an open space with work stations and the consulting area.
