Consulted to CenturyLink (formerly Qwest Communications) as a Systems Engineer (SE) in the Strategy Management Office (SMO). Created full-system requirements for the Self-Service Portal (SSP), LION and Digital Strategy programs. QWEST COMMUNICATIONS (2002 to 2011) Lead Systems Analyst

Lead Systems Analyst in the Electronic Commerce (ECom) systems group. ECom consists of Thundercat, IOT, Quick Path, and other applications for consumer and small business ordering.

Responsible for creating IT Requirements documents, transforming Business Requirements into Application Use Cases for Development and System Test teams.

Lead Software Developer

Lead Developer on various projects, creating high-level designs and code from functional requirements in Java and C/C++.

Assigned to the SDP (Software Delivery Platform) project in 2008. SDP is the Java-based ordering system for large corporate customers to purchase and configure networking components (SONET, MPLS, etc.).

Assigned to the IOT (Internet Ordering Tool) project in 2007. IOT is the Java-based middleware connecting Qwest.com – a self-service website for consumers and small business – to various Qwest legacy systems.

Ported IMA BPL from Hewlett-Packard (HP-UX) to Sun Microsystems (Solaris) C/C++ platform in 2007.

Converted IMA EDI interface to XML in 2006. Developed schemas, gateway and Web Services to process pre-order, order and post-order transactions using Java, BEA WebLogic and Eclipse.

Developed, enhanced and maintained IMA BPL - FCC 271 and 272 compliant software – which supported Qwest’s reentry into and growth of in-region Long Distance business. Trained and mentored other developers.

DATATREND INFORMATION SYSTEMS (1999 to 2002)Telecommunications Consultant

Consulted to Qwest Communications (formerly US WEST) on the Interconnect Mediated Access (IMA) project.

Transferred to the BPL (Business Process Layer) Development team in 2001. The BPL applies Qwest business rules, via a series of edit modules, to CLEC (Competitive Local Exchange Carriers) data from either a Java GUI or EDI interface. The BPL environment is primarily C and C++ code accessing an Oracle database on HP-UX.

Functioned as EDI Development Manager (2000 to 2001). EDI Developer on the IMA Project. This involved mapping of various EDI documents which

allowed CLEC to resell Qwest’s massive 14-state local phone service network. Elevated to EDI Development Co-lead in 2000.
