What are RTU deployment options?

In case of deployment as a comprehensive class 4&5 product RTU delivers additional economic benefits:

• Hardware expenditures reduction • Technical support expenses reduction • Installation, configuration and maintenance expenses reduction

4

RTU provides unmatched flexibility of combination between retail and transit functionality.

RTU can be deployed as • class 5 platform for value-added services delivery • bundled product that comprises class 4 and class 5 features.

Which benefits does RTU bring to Wholesale business?

• High performance and carrier-class reliability• Seamless interoperability of multi-vendor equipment• Geographically distributed architecture• SIP,H.323, ITU/ETSI ISUP(SIGTRAN)*, MGCP support and conversion on

the core level• SIP-T/I support• A single traffic entry point & SBC functionality• SIP trunking (connectivity for all IP PBXs directly across IP links)

5

RTU enables customers to add class 5 features and VAS in a convenient “pass as you go” way.

*national dialects are available on demand

Which benefits does RTU bring to Retail business?

• A broad range of VAS on a single platform • A variety of deployment scenarios• Comprehensive system management capabilities• Carrier-grade reliability and fault-tolerance• Interconnection of subscribers both through various VoIP protocols• Interconnection with a wide range of IP phones and SoftClients

6

RTU allows telecom carriers and service providers to offer highly remunerative value-added services to their customers.

Page 7: Retail and Transit Unit (RTU)

RTU is based on the universal highly scalable Traffic Switch managed by two types of logic subsystems: Retail Logic responsible for class 5 features and services Wholesale Logic responsible for class 4 functionality.

The system operates on the industry-standard hardware.

7

* Available for basic calls and transit

The RTU architecture allows for:

Almost unlimited scalability* Very high fault-tolerance Building geographically distributed networks with a single point of management and data entry Flexibility and ease of adding additional servers into a cluster In case of a hardware fault in one of the system’s components, its functions are taken over by other servers in the cluster assuring business-critical system dependability.

What is the technological basis of RTU?
