TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS ITEMS1. Concrete walls cleaned from all cement grout and formwork
rods; the concrete must be clean, dry, and seasoned. A rounded edge in mortar of cement will be installed at the foot of the turn-ups to permit correct membrane positioning.
2. All surfaces on which the waterproofing layer is laid on-site must be previously given a coat of a bituminous primer (POLYPRIMER HP 45 PROFESSIONAL by POLYGLASS S.p.A.) with 20÷25 viscosity in FORD Cup no. 4 at 25 °C. Wait until the primer is completely dry (15-20 hours) before applying the waterproofing layer.
3. The first waterproofing layer will be composed of an ADESO® waterproofing membrane made from a distilled bitumen elastomeric compound (SBS) with innovative self-adhesive compound layering technology. The 2 mm thick Professional Use membrane is made from a staple non-woven polyester fabric reinforced and stabilised by longitudinal glass fibre (ELASTOFLEX SA P by POLYGLASS S.p.A. - produced by UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 and UNI EN ISO14001:2004 certified Quality System; conformity marking with intended use as per EN 13707 Multiple layer). This membrane with -20 °C cold flexibility is made with the quality standards ensured by N.A.T.® (NO AGEING TECHNOLOGY, an innovative productive system that permits control over the polymeric ageing process of bituminous membranes). The membrane can be applied with perfect adherence to the layer previously applied after stripping away the monosiliconated release film from the self-adhesive side with overlaps of at least 10 cm on the sides and 15 cm on the heads; bonding occurs with the direct contact of the overlapping parts and light rolling with a metal roller. The layer must be turned up and bonded by torching without interruption along the walls to the top of the vertical turn-up. Some operations or technical details can be facilitated by heating the membrane with hot air guns or light torching with propane gas.
4. The second waterproofing layer will be composed of an ADESO® waterproofing membrane made from a distilled bitumen elastomeric compound (SBS) with innovative self-adhesive compound layering technology. The 2 mm thick Professional Use membrane is made from non-woven flocking polyester reinforced and stabilised by longitudinal glass fibre (ELASTOFLEX SA P by POLYGLASS S.p.A. - produced by UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 and UNI EN ISO14001:2004 certified Quality System; conformity marking with intended use as per EN 13969 Multiple layer membranes for foundations). The membrane can be applied with perfect adherence to the layer previously applied after stripping the monosiliconated release film away from the self-adhesive side with overlaps of at least 10
cm on the sides and 15 cm on the heads; bonding occurs with the direct contact of the overlapping parts. The layer must be turned up and bonded by torching without interruption along the walls to the base of the foundation plinth. Some operations or technical details can be facilitated by heating the membrane with hot air guns or light torching with propane gas. All the membranes forming the second waterproofing layer must be laid in the same direction as the first with longitudinal and transversal overlapping equal to or greater than the width of the bonding beam. After laying on-site, both membranes must be mechanically fastened to the top of the wall in order to avoid slippage using metal washers and fixings or the appropriate metal flashing.
5. POLYFOND KIT DRAIN by POLYGLASS S.p.A., a protective drainage system made a with a new mixture of HDPE in truncated cone embossing bonded to white needle-loomed non-woven polypropylene fabric with 110 g/m2 density ensures waterproofing seal protection and rainwater drainage. The protective system is fastened using a perforated HDPE finishing strip 200 cm long, 7 cm high. The protective system can be fastened by impact with washers and nails in 25 mm galvanized steel.
6. For positioning at the base of the foundation of a perforated drainage tube sheathed in non-woven fabric.
7. Refill using clean backfill free from construction debris laid on-site, with care to avoid damaging the mechanical protection provided previously.
