Anodisingisanelectromechanicalprocessthatproducesasmoothoxidecoatingonaluminiumandthethickerthecoatingofthefilmthebetterthecorrosionresistance.Specificationsforanodisingrangesfrom10to35micronsdependingontheconditionsandtheapplication.Anodisingprovidesafinishthatissympathetictothenaturallookofaluminiumandconsequentlyasmallerrangeofcoloursisavailable.

On the coast at Istanbul, Turkey, this retractable roof spans 6.6m by 16.3m and utilises a glass glazing to a spectacular effect.

6.1 MOTORISATION

MOTORSforRetractableRoofPolycarbonate(RRP)

The driving force behind the Libart Retractle Roof SolaGlide system is sophisticatedmotorisation. The automated motor system must measure up to rigorous engineering andelectricalstandards,providetechnologyfortheinstaller,comfortfortheuserandsimplicitytouse.

SomfymotorsmanufacturedinFrancerecentlycelebratedproductionandtestingof100millionmotors.

The SOMFY ALTUS range of RTS tubularmotors are certified and carry a 5 yearwarranty. The motor has a build in radioreceiver with Somfy’s controlling code forRTS control. The Altus RTS allows the userto operate the retractable roof with theconvenienceofaremotecontrol.

Once installed in the Libart retractable roof,themotors,connectionandwiringareneatlyhidden to preserve the aesthetics of theLibart retractable roof. A functional singleconnectorforpowersupplyprovidesasimpleandreliableelectricalsolution.

Theloadcalculationsarebasedonthemotors“housed”ina70mmoctagonalcasing.

AUTOMATED FUNCTIONALITYThe SOMFY range of rain, wind and sun sensors takes thecontrol of your roof towhole new dimension. Reliable andprecise, these sensors detect the weather conditions andmanage the roof movement to the detected weather andenvironmentalconditions.In a practical situation, theOndeis rain sensorwill assist inavoiding accidental raindamage if the roof is inadvertentlyleftopen. 09 MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

MAINTENANCE&CLEANING

EnsuringtheLibartRetractableRoofisproperlymaintainedisessentialtotheongoingoperationoftheroofandtopreservethewarrantiesassociatedwiththeroof.

• Removeleavesordirtfromthetopoftheretractableroofsystem,hosedowntheglazing withwaterinthedirectionoftheslope.Donotspraythewaterunderthepanels.

• Donotusesharporabrasiveobjectsormaterialsontheglazingortheprofiles.

• Neverusesolvents,abrasivecleaners,chemicalsorscrubbingagentsonanyofthe surfacesoftheroofglazingandprofiles.Allsolventscanpotentiallydamagepowder coatedandanodisedsurfaces.Ifcleaningbysolventisrequired,methylatedspiritsor mineralturpentinemaybeusedprovidedasmalltestspotshowsnodamage. Testcarefullybeforeuse.

• Itisrecommendedthattheunitbecleaned,andguttersbecleanedaminimumoftwicea year.

• Thebestmethodofcleaningistousewarmwaterwithdetergentandasoftclothor sponge.Avoidharshscourers,brushesandaggressivechemicals.

• TheLibartRetractableRoofisamotorisedsystem.Ifnotusedforlongperiods,notunlike acar,itmaynotfunctioncorrectly.LibartAustraliarecommendsitisfullyopenedand thenclosedonce,everyfourweeks.

• DuluxcolourRepairKitsareavailableforminortouchups.

• Donotstand or walk ontheroof.Libart Australia and authorised dealers offer on-site maintenance programs.

Shoulda classificationnotbecoveredby this chart (anNA result), the site shouldbe reclassifiedbyaConsultingStructuralEngineer.ThedefinitionsandtableswhichfollowhavebeenextractedfromAS4055-2006Windloadsforhousing.

existsonlyforisolatedhousesinflat,treeless,poorlygrassedplainsofatleast10Kmwidth.This

categoryisapplicableforwatersurfacesforserviceabilitydesign.

(b)TerrainCategory2(TC2)Openterrainincludingseacoastareas,airfields,grasslandwithfew

wellscatteredobstructions,suchasisolatedtreesanduncutgrass,havingheightsfrom1.5mto

10.0m.

(c)TerrainCategory2.5(TC2.5)Terrainwithafewtrees,isolatedobstructions,suchasagricultural

land,canefieldsorlonggrass,upto600mmhigh.ThiscategoryisintermediatebetweenTC2and

SELECTION OF SHIELDING CLASS

Wherethewindspeedonahouseisinfluencedbyobstructionsofsimilarsizetothehouse,shieldingshallbeconsideredandshallbebasedonthelikelyshieldingfiveyearshence.TheshieldingclassforahousingsiteshallbeidentifiedbythenotationFS,PSorNS,andshallbedeterminedasfollows:

(a) Fullshielding(FS)Fullshieldingshallapplywhereatleasttworowsofhousesorsimilarsizepermanentobstructions,surroundthehousebeingconsidered.InwindregionsAandB,heavilywooded areas provide full shielding. The application of full shielding shall be appropriate fortypicalsuburbandevelopmentgreaterthanorequalto10houses,orsimilarsizeobstructionsperhectare. Theeffectsofroadsorotheropenareaswithadistancemeasured inanydirectionoflessthan100mshallbeignored.However,thefirsttworowsofhousesabuttingpermanentopenareaswithatleastadimensiongreaterthan100m,suchasparklands,largeexpansesofwaterandairfields,shallbeconsideredtohavepartialshieldingornoshielding.(b) Partialshielding(PS)Partialshieldingshallapplytointermediatesituationswherethereareat least2.5houses,treesorshedsperhectare,suchasacreagetypesuburbandevelopmentorwoodedparkland. Thetopographicclassdeterminestheeffectofwindonahousebecauseofitslocationonahill,ridgeorescarpmentandtheheightandaverageslopeofthehill,ridgeorescarpment.ThetopographicclassforahousingsiteshallbeidentifiedbythenotationT1,T2,T3,T4orT5andshallbedeterminedfromTable2.3andFigure2.2.BuildingsiteswheretopographyisnotanissueareconsideredtobeclassT1.Note:1. The method defined in Table 2.3 and Figure 2.2 is suitable for the purpose of either mapping the wind classes of an area or assessing the wind class of an individual site.
