God has been faithful to us, and for that, we are grateful. I am excited to announce the VIRTUAL 104 th SESSION OF THE LOUISIANA HOME & FOREIGN MISSIONS BAPTIST CONVENTION. As you may recall, our Virtual Mid-Winter Board Session was a great success, and we look forward to that same success this coming July. Even though we are blessed with the COVID 19 vaccines, we will not gather in-person just yet. Our planning team is working hard to present a Virtual Session second to none. The dates are July 25-28, 2021. This Virtual Session will provide something for everyone. All Auxiliaries, Boards, Commissions, The Parent Body, Congress of Christian Education, and Youth & Children’s Convention will meet. All meetings and classes will be presented via Zoom and worship each evening will be held via Face book Live and YouTube. I am encouraging each moderator, pastor, auxiliary/board/commission leader, and member to support this session by participating, adhering to the registration and financial requirements and to encourage others to participate as well. Let’s be positive and make this the best session ever! The session summary and registration packet with instructions are included. Greetings Brothers and Sisters of Louisiana Home & Foreign Missions Baptist Convention,

I pray that this letter finds each of you and your family all in good health while enjoying God’s

blessings. God has been faithful to us, and for that, we are grateful.

I am excited to announce the VIRTUAL 104th SESSION OF THE LOUISIANA HOME &

FOREIGN MISSIONS BAPTIST CONVENTION. As you may recall, our Virtual Mid-Winter

Board Session was a great success, and we look forward to that same success this coming July.

Even though we are blessed with the COVID 19 vaccines, we will not gather in-person just yet.

Our planning team is working hard to present a Virtual Session second to none.

The dates are July 25-28, 2021. This Virtual Session will provide something for everyone. All

Auxiliaries, Boards, Commissions, The Parent Body, Congress of Christian Education, and Youth

& Children’s Convention will meet. All meetings and classes will be presented via Zoom and

worship

each evening will be held via Face book Live and YouTube.

I am encouraging each moderator, pastor, auxiliary/board/commission leader, and member to

support this session by participating, adhering to the registration and financial requirements and

to encourage others to participate as well. Let’s be positive and make this the best session ever!

The session summary and registration packet with instructions are included.

Join me in prayer that God would bless us in a MIGHTY WAY during this Session. We are

thankful for the technology that allows us to “stay together while we are apart”. I look forward

to seeing each of you real soon!

Dear Louisiana Home & Foreign Mission Baptist Convention

(LHFMBC)Congress Attendees

I am humbled that our esteem State President would ask me to put on my service gear again in

LHFMBC. I completely understand that those that cannot be under authority should never be in

authority.

I am taking over as requested by our State President in a transitional time after the faithful tenure

of Rev. Jerry Hannible. I want to express gratitude for his long stint of service and commitment

even when I was state president. Our capable and credentialed Dean, Dr. Kieran Coleman, has

certainly been a valuable curriculum organizer. Thanks also goes out to our advisor, Vice-

President, Rev. Darwan Lazard, that served as Dean of our Congress in the past, when our

Congress attendance was at its peak attendance numbers. The entire Congress staff must be

commended.

With all of this experience and brain power there is no shortage of knowledge and experience in

developing and grovwing this Congress back to its hay day under the leadership of our Visionary State President. God blessed us to have a virtual Congress in NBCA last year with over 1400

students learning online. We are familiar with every aspect of the methodology to produce an

award-winning state Congress. The State President has put a dream team together. We shall not fail.

The task at hand now is for each Pastor and Association President/Moderator to set attendance

goals and get our people signed up quickly for these relevant and re-imagined classes. We should

have not less than 750 students matriculating in our state Congress resourceful classes. I

challenge each pastor to assign someone to get at least 10 of your members/disciples to register

by the end of the month.

Let’s engage in the work NOW of getting people registered. All of the back-office technology

coordination is already worked out. WE MUST FOCUS OUR ATTENTION ON

REGISTRATIONS NOW and make our state President proud as we give glory the God. I look

forward to seeing you online in July. Get some of these young people to assist you in signing up.

There can be a bridge between our seniors and tech smart millennials in getting the at least 750

students signed up!

Sure of Eternal Life

Office of the Dean

Greetings,

I am eternally grateful for the support of our Congress, its staff, workers and

delegates. Once again, they have done an exceptional job in the development and

implementation of our Christian education curriculum and classes.

More now than ever, these individuals continue to serve, as President Dixon has

wisely called us to be, as brighter light and better salt.

A huge note of gratitude goes to our former director Rev Jerry Hannible of

Hammond who served with great distinction as the Congress Director.

Additionally, we are eternally grateful for the excitement and energy brought by

our most capable and able Interim Director, Dr. Samuel C. Tolbert who was tasked

to lead, by President Dixon, during this transitional period.

This year, as we “Re-brand, Re-ignite, and Re-connect” (virtually), it is

encouraging to know and witness that our Congress continues to provide powerful,

practical strategies, which enables our students and churches to remain spiritually

and pedagogically focused and relevant “in times like these.”

Our commitment to biblical truths, Baptist doctrine and polity remains steadfast,

unmovable and always abounding to our work- the support of Christian education.

We look forward to seeing you logged in, connected and engaged during the week

of July 25-28.

Spiritually Assured and Virtually Connected,

Kieran D. Coleman, PhD, Dean

Self- Care for Pastors

Discover how imbalances in your physical, emotional, spiritual, and

intellectual lives can destroy the very ministry you seek to carry out. Learn

what you can do to restore that balance.

Partnering with the Pastor (Open)

Your pastor cannot do it alone. He is not perfect. He is in a harsh

environment where people expect him to be an extraordinary communicator,

a great organizer, an ideal husband, and parent. He simply cannot do the job

alone. He needs solid prayer partners who will stand in faith with him to

reach this world.
