First Reading Book of Wisdom 3:1-9

He accepted them as a holocaust.

The souls of the just are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them.

They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead;and their passing away was thought an afflictionand their going forth from us, utter destruction.

But they are in peace.For if before men, indeed, they be punished,

yet is their hope full of immortality;Chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed,

because God tried themand found them worthy of himself.

As gold in the furnace, he proved them,and as sacrificial offerings he took them to himself.

In the time of their visitation they shall shine,and shall dart about as sparks through stubble;

They shall judge nations and rule over peoples,and the Lord shall be their King forever.

Those who trust in him shall understand truth,and the faithful shall abide with him in love:

Because grace and mercy are with his holy ones,and his care is with his elect.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 23: 1-3, 4-6

The Lord is my shepherd, CHOIR & PEOPLE

Rev. Scott A. Haynes, S.J.C.

R. The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. In verdant pastures he gives me repose;

Beside restful waters he leads me;he refreshes my soul. R.

He guides me in right pathsfor his name’s sake.

Even though I walk in the dark valley I fear no evil; for you are at my side

With your rod and your staffthat give me courage. R.

You spread the table before me in the sight of my foes;

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. R.

Only goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life;

And I shall dwell in the house of the Lordfor years to come. R.

Second Reading 1 John 3:1-2

We shall see God as he really is.

Beloved:See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the children of God. Yet so we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God’s children now; what we shall be has not yet been revealed. We do know that when it is revealed we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

Gospel Reading John 6:51-58

V. Dominus vobiscum.R. Et cum spiritu tuo.

V. Lectio sancti Evangelii secundum Ioannem.R. Gloria tibi, Domine.

All who eat this bread will live for ever: and I will raise themup on the last day.

Jesus said to the crowd:“I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my Flesh for the life of the world.’’The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us his Flesh to eat?” Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the Flesh of the Son of Man and drink his Blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my Flesh and drinks my Blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my Flesh is true food, and my Blood is true drink. Whoever eats my Flesh and drinks my Blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live for ever.”

V. Verbum Domini.R. Deo Gratias.

Roman Canon (Eucharistic Prayer I)

P. To you, therefore, most merciful Father, we make humble prayer and petitionthrough Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord: that you accept and bless these gifts,these offerings, these holy and unblemished sacrifices, which we offer you firstlyfor your holy catholic Church.

Be pleased to grant her peace, to guard, unite and govern her throughout thewhole world, together with your servant N. our Pope and N. our Bishop, and allthose who, holding to the truth, hand on the catholic and apostolic faith.

Commemoration of the Living

P. Remember, Lord, your servants N. and N. and all gathered here, whose faithand devotion are known to you. For them, we offer you this sacrifice of praise orthey offer it for themselves and all who are dear to them: for the redemption oftheir souls, in hope of health and well-being, and paying their homage to you, the eternal God, living and true.

In communion with those whose memory we venerate, especially the gloriousever-Virgin Mary, Mother of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ, and blessed Joseph,her Spouse, your blessed Apostles and Martyrs, Peter and Paul, Andrew, (James,John, Thomas, James, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Simon and Jude; Linus,Cletus, Clement, Sixtus, Cornelius, Cyprian, Lawrence, Chrysogonus, John andPaul, Cosmas and Damian) and all your Saints; we ask that through their meritsand prayers, in all things we may be defended by your protecting help. (ThroughChrist our Lord. Amen.)

Therefore, Lord, we pray: graciously accept this oblation of our service, that ofyour whole family; order our days in your peace, and command that we be deliv-ered from eternal damnation and counted among the flock of those you havechosen. (Through Christ our Lord. Amen.)

Be pleased, O God, we pray, to bless, acknowledge, and approve this offering inevery respect; make it spiritual and acceptable, so that it may become for us theBody and Blood of your most beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.

Words of Institution

P. On the day before he was to suffer, he took bread in his holy and venerablehands, and with eyes raised to heaven to you, O God, his almighty Father, giving you thanks, he said the blessing, broke the bread and gave it to his disciples, saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT, FOR THIS IS MY BODY, WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU.

In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took this precious chalice in his holyand venerable hands, and once more giving you thanks, he said the blessing andgave the chalice to his disciples, saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT, FOR THIS IS THECHALICE OF MY BLOOD, THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNALCOVENANT, WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND FORMANY FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS. DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.

P. Mysterium fidei.R. Mortem tuam annuntiamus, Domine, et tuam resurrectionem confitemur,donec venias.

P. Therefore, O Lord, as we celebrate the memorial of the blessed Passion, the Resurrection from the dead, and the glorious Ascension into heaven ofChrist, your Son, our Lord, we, your servants and your holy people, offer to your glorious majesty from the gifts that you have given us, this pure victim, this holy victim, this spotless victim, the holy Bread of eternal life and theChalice of everlasting salvation.

Be pleased to look upon these offerings with a serene and kindly countenance,and to accept them, as once you were pleased to accept the gifts of your servantAbel the just, the sacrifice of Abraham, our father in faith, and the offering ofyour high priest Melchizedek, a holy sacrifice, a spotless victim.

In humble prayer we ask you, almighty God: command that these gifts be borneby the hands of your holy Angel to your altar on high in the sight of your divine

majesty, so that all of us, who through this participation at the altar receive themost holy Body and Blood of your Son, may be filled with every grace and heavenly blessing. (Through Christ our Lord. Amen.)

Commemoration of the Dead

P. Remember also, Lord, your servants N. and N., who have gone before us withthe sign of faith and rest in the sleep of peace.

Grant them, O Lord, we pray, and all who sleep in Christ, a place of refreshment,light and peace. (Through Christ our Lord. Amen.)

To us, also, your servants, who, though sinners, hope in your abundant mercies,graciously grant some share and fellowship with your holy Apostles and Martyrs:with John the Baptist, Stephen, Matthias, Barnabas, (Ignatius, Alexander,Marcellinus, Peter, Felicity, Perpetua, Agatha, Lucy, Agnes, Cecilia, Anastasia)and all your Saints; admit us, we beseech you, into their company, not weighingour merits, but granting us your pardon, through Christ our Lord.

Through whom you continue to make all these good things, O Lord; you sanctifythem, fill them with life, bless them, and bestow them upon us.

P. Per ipsum, et cum ipso, et in ipso, est tibi Deo Patri omnipoténti, in unitáteSpíritus Sancti, omnis honor et glória per ómnia sæcula sæculórum.R. Amen.

Pater Noster

P. Praeceptis salutaribus moniti, et divina institutione formati, audemus dicere:R. Pater noster, qui es in caelis: sanctificetur nomen tuum; adveniat regnumtuum; fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo, et in terra. Panem nostrum cotidianum danobis hodie; et dimitte nobis debita nostra, sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribusnostris: et ne nos inducas in tentationem; sed libera nos a malo.

Prayer to the Divine Infant Fr. Miguel Marie Soeherman, M.F.V.A.

Divine Child Jesus, we commend to You our beloved Mother Angelica whom Youhave called from this life.

You chose her to do many great works in this life. You asked her to build You atemple. With Your help, she built this temple and dedicated it to You, DivineChild Jesus.

Remember her love for You while on earth. Remember her efforts in trying to lead many souls to love You, to know the truth, and to see and appreciate thebeauty of Your Catholic Church. Remember her many sufferings in this life which she united with Your own for the salvation and sanctification of herself and so many souls.

Forgive all of her sins, the good she did poorly, and the good she failed to do. Wecommend to You her body and soul. O Divine Child Jesus, lead her joyfully to the Father’s House, the Eternal Temple of the Heavenly Jerusalem. We ask all thisthrough Our Lady’s powerful intercession and in Your Holy Name, Jesus, who liveand reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, Lord, forever and ever. Amen.
