THE ANNUAL SOCIO-CULTURAL FESTIVAL OF JUIT

Hey JUITians,Colors, pamphlets, charts, ribbons, posters, lantern...hmmm…JUIT does seem more cheerful than its usual gloomy self. Don't we all wish that this giddy atmosphere of anticipation and excitement could last all year long? Well wishful thinking aside, the Editorial Board of JUIT brings to you your own newsletter for the upcoming three days of fun, frolic, dance, enthusiasm and enjoyment. All the clubs and committees have really put in their sweat to make this mega event memorable and successful. Kudos to them. The theme “Reverence for Diversity” is clearly depicted in the decorations done. As all of their painstaking events bear fruit, fasten your seat belts and prepare to embark on a three day blasting ride. Reverié, on their part, has tried to bring you all the pre-fest juicy gossips, funny events and some glimpses to what all went behind the scenes. Read on to know the Mess menu for the coming 3 days, thoughts of our newly appointed Vice Chancellor regarding this festival, what was good and what was not up to the mark, and the main highlights of Le Fiestus 2014.Still not satisfied? JYC PresidentPast two weeks have experienced a lot of enthusiasm and craze for the Fest. Students have been working extremely hard to put up the show. JYC finally presents Le Fiestus 2014 and we have left no stone unturned in making it a memorable experience for you. Looking forward to your energetic involvement and kind co-operation.

JYC SecretaryLe Fiestus 2014 is a dream, a dream for which we started working months back just to make these three days the best days of the year. The three days when we forget about ourselves and start working for JUIT.I am sure this year we are going to add another feather to JYC’s hat and take it an entirely new level.

JYC TreasurerThe day is here for which the entire University waits eagerly and the day for which we have worked hard throughout the academic year. A lot of new things have been added this year and we hope everyone likes it.I admire everyone who is a part of Le Fiestus 2014 as it not a one man’s show but a collective effort.

CULTURAL NIGHT: Cultural Night is a unique night in the Le Fiestus calendar where you can experience the myriad of cultural possibilities students from across the nation has to offer for free. So hold on to this programme and use it as a guide to explore, experience and enjoy on and beyond.

DAY 2Date: Sunday, April 6, 2014Event Location: Basket Ball CourtEvent Description:

WAR OF BANDS: It is the fusion of bands to create a reverberating environment in the serene hills of JUIT. Be a part of it to make it more happening and lively.

Time:10:00 hrs to 14:00 hrs.

EKA BAND: EKA plays to the pulse of the audience! Whatever the occasion, this All-Terrain band is sure to bring a smile on your face, spread cheer and make it an experience to cherish.Often called one of India's most entertaining and engaging bands, EKA has taken its unique brand of 'Swatantra Rock' to audiences far and wide within India and internationally. EKA is based in dilwaalon ki nagri, Dilli and comprises of Benjamine 'Benny' Pinto on vocals & keyboards (Ex-Euphoria), Hitesh 'Rikki' Madan on vocals & guitars (Ex-Euphoria) and Lokesh Madan on vocals & bass. Time: 18:00 hrs to 20:00 hrs

DJ NIGHT: This season we explore the emerging events and talents with a mix of party scene. Pop! Goes the World with India's best DJ, DJ NYK. This DJ Night proves to be one of the most memorable of them all.

Date: Monday, April 7, 2014Event Description:

COMEDY AFTERNOON: Stand-up comedy existed in India in terms of poets like Surendra Sharma. Then the show laughter challenge created a new genre but it came down soon. That gradually is changing with different flavour of stand-ups coming. So, we warmly welcome RIVALDO, NITIN GUPTA to give an overwhelming performance to leave all of us in awe.

AADHYA BAND: It is a Sufi rock band which has performed in many leading college festivals. Its performance will surely leave you enthralled and high on energy quotient.

STAR NIGHT: The voice behind “Badtameez Dil”, “The Disco Song”, “Tujhpefida”, “DaaruDesi”, “Aadat Se Majboor” and many more Bollywood chartbusters, is performing Live at JUIT grounds. Benny Dayal. He is a member of the band S5 launched by the channel SS Music. Benny Dayal is a playback singer with many noted composers to produce successful soundtracks. Currently Benny has been working with the top Music Directors in Bollywood including Amit Trivedi, Salim-Sulaiman, Vishal Shekhar, Pritam and Himesh Reshammiya.

IN DISCUSSION WITH THE VICE CHANCELLOR

In an attempt to involve the whole of JUIT in the Cultural Festival, Reverié had a talk with the new Vice Chancellor of JUIT, Prof. Shiban Kishen Kak. Here is what he had to say:

Sir, you are new to this University. How has been you stay at JUIT till now?I am new to JUIT but not to the Jaypee Group. I was the Director of JIIT Noida for 3 years when it was started. I see tremendous scope here. We can make this institution something and everyone connected to it will be proud. Sir, as the fest season is going on, how do you like the environment at JUIT?I wish the environment stays like this forever. It is more vibrant, more creative and more homogeneous.What are you expectations from Le Fiestus 2014?It is a very important part of your shaping. It gives a good dimension to every student's p e r s o n a l i t y a n d creative ability. We definitely learn to manage things and it helps us a lot in our future. The important part is what values we attach to one's culture and what values we are passing to our youngsters. One must never forget one's roots.Sir, you might have had an interaction with the JYC. What would you like to say about them?It is very premature to talk about JYC as I have joined recently. Managing a festival is quite a task and there is a lot of responsibility involved. I see good involvement and I wish them luck. We are here to guide them and mentor them. I have tremendous faith in the young generation.

The Press Conference organized in Shimla by the JYC was an impressive step to publicize Le Fiestus 2014.

JYC Anthem was an innovative idea executed quite brillianty.

The drop-downs in the Academic area was really eye-catchy and a good attempt to lure the students.

The Flash Mob organized at the Dhyan Kaksh some days prior to the Fest was enjoyed by everyone.

Reverié appreciates JYC Environment Club for their cleanliness during the fest preparations. Their room was always well organized. Well done!

Fine Arts did exceptionally good work. Not only the uniqueness and diversity of charts, but their placement was also well thought of.

The JYC Website, though very well designed, took a lot of time to load sometimes.

The sweat-shirt idea of JYC was a complete flop and they had to switch to t-shirts with reduced prices.

E v e n t h o u g h s p a c e s w e r e a l r e a d y a l l o t t e d t o Clubs/Committes and there was no fight regarding chart positions, the Open Café did not look as vibrant and filled up with charts as it used to look in the past years.

India winning the Semi-final, though a joyous moment for everyone, can really restrict the audience in the performances planned on the Evening of Day 2. Bad Luck JYC!

The idea of having an Open Festival was not very successful as can be seen by the number of outside participation. Note: There can be a few changes in the above Menu.

JYC- A FEW WORDS

Having a team is helpful; co-ordinating with the entire team quite tedious. The ups and downs did not hinder them at any stage and things went in the right direction.Look for them if you need a Cultural Night planned and you will never be disappointed with the effort they put in.During preparations if you walk in a room which is quite clean, know you are in Environment Club’s room. The name synchronises with their deeds.Not to be seen during the show, but the show is all because of them. In the right words, they can be called as the backbone of JYC.Your eyes wont blink when you have a glimpse of their work. The ideas conceived and implemented were exceptional and mesmerizing.Be it anchoring, be it theatre or be it something fun, these people can show that they are equally efficient in every sphere.The plumpy heads never missed a chance to entertain the Univeristy with their Saturday movies along with the welcomed refreshments.Look out for them if you need to have a profile picture clicked or a photoshoot or a shot that you can remember for a lifetime. Do visit their Photo Booth.When you hear Doley Sholey and Sumo Wrestling, you know it’s this club involved. Fit and healthy they work in their own unique way.They may be the geeky ones, but they are way smarter than you. Hand them a laptop and they will leave you astonished with their fine work.When you step out of this University, they will start their job and will never let you forget the wonderful time you spent here.Maintain a decorum or the brawny ones will be there to set you right. Fear them and respect them for they play an important part.Any event requires funds and they look out for people ready to shell out their money. Look at the left and right of the page to see their hard work.As a guest, doesn’t it feel nice when you receive a warm welcome and are provided with everything you need? Say thanks to them.Nobody wants to conduct anything without publicizing and the way this committee publicizes is evident from the excellent Le Fiestus website.

You would not have been reading this newsletter had Reverié not existed. Neither would you have got something to laugh at without the Reverié wall.
