Since March 2008, Paraguay presides COSAVE´s Directive Committee.
November 2007, Council of Ministers approved a new COSAVE´s biannual Working Plan
Studding the possibility to fix Headquarters.

Continue to look for common positions for comments to ISPMs and CPM issues.
Continue to produce regional technical documents to support NPPOs negotiations.

Multilayer system for preparation of comments
Ad Hoc Working Groups on: Fruit Flies, Analytical Methods and Procedures and Quarantine Issues
Followed by consideration the IPPC Issues Ad Hoc Working Group.
Finally approval by consensus or not by the Directive Committee.

- On the feasibility to operate a recognition system for pest free areas.
- On preclearance.

All COSAVE member countries call for public comments to draft ISPM´s through their Web Sites
Participation is low and mechanisms to increase it are encouraged through other activities of the Work Program.

Inspectors authorized to sign phytosanitary certificates database. Reviewed to include 3 signatures of each inspector. Inclusion of other countries inspectors.
PRA database. More than 800 PRA´s. Supports the list of main regulated pests for the COSAVE region.
