The seminar will focus on the development and delivery of effective maritime education and training, including the implications of the revised IMO STCW Convention.

“Concerned about ensuring competence on board? Understand and discuss the changes to maritime education. Seafarers, shore-based maritime industry personnel, as well as recreational boaters must have the knowledge and skills to ensure efficiency and safety. What is and what will be required now and in the foreseeable future? What can the industry do to ensure seafarer competence? Air your views, listen to others, formulate a statement of outcomes, and clarify the “course to make good”.

The Emirates International Maritime Academy (EIMA) is the UAE’s first academy directly aimed at the Maritime Industry. We are committed to providing the UAE, GCC and Middle East as a whole with industry leading Maritime Education both theoretical and practical. EIMA aims to be the region’s part and full-time students gateway to a vibrant maritime career.
