It moves the body tube closer to or further from the specimen. h. base - This is the bottom part of the microscope. i. diaphragm & mirror - These parts you would use to increase or decrease the amount of light coming up through the slide. j. fine adjustment knob - This part is used to sharpen the focus of the specimen. k. stage clips - These help hold the specimen slide in place. l. high power objective lens - This part can magnify the specimen 40 or 43 times its original size.

The Nature of Science 1. Each group had equal number of men and women. The first group was given diet soda with caffeine in it and the second group was given caffeine-free soda. Both groups received their drinks in a cup so they did not know what type of soda they were drinking.
