I started studying Actuarial Science 8 years ago. In those days the popularity of the course was even lesser. Professor Shah was the only person who guided me through the course. The team at DS ActEd was very focused towards training us, with not only the course material but also all other supporting and soft skills required to be a good professional. Their structure was very helpful in pursuing IAI exams. The DS ActEd team has had a huge contribution to get me successful today. I duly appreciate their support and guidance.

It is said that a place is only as good as the people in it. And by this virtue, DSActEd is definitely one of the best places to find yourself in. The distinguished faculty members form the pillars and roof of DSActEd so that we, the students, could get the ideal platform to learn and evolve. I still remember Vaibhav Sir's resilience in making us practice. We were naive enough to not know that by opposing him we were actually opposing ourselves! And Purnima Madam's ability to go from the strict and firm teacher figure to the fun and caring friend figure in a jiffy still baffles me! She ensured that we got the best of both worlds. And of course Shah Sir, who with his magical abilities would explain even the most complicated concepts in the simplest manner with that trademark tinge of humour such that I can clearly recall everything that I learnt even now! Thank you DSActEd for giving me a place to grow and wings to fly! Wishing DSActEd all the very best in its endeavor of creating out perfomers.

Too many memories associated with DS ActEd to fit on this page. Shah sir's jaw-dropping fast calculations, Purnima ma'am's 'Professionalism', Mayur sir's efforts to go all out to make a lecture interesting and make sure that "He's there!!" , Vaibhav Sir's sincere efforts in conducting tutorials and preparing assignments for us, Mrunalini Ma'am's Economic lectures and last but not the least Bhavna Ma'am to make sure that we've signed our attendance sheets!!! The schezwan cheese chilly toast and cutting chai, the sight of choppers landing into Pawan Hans and the mesmerizing view of the sun setting by the Juhu beach are among the many things that I'll cherish. To top it up, this institute gave me an opportunity to become a Leo and the Secretary of Leo Club of Mumbai Beach Heaven for the centennial year 2016-17, and various other opportunities to meet dignitaries across various fields including Finance and Actuarial Science, it's been a wonderful journey!

At times it feels as though just yesterday we had our first day in college wherein we introduced ourselves to our classmates and today, here we are in the last semester of our graduation, future fellow actuaries! As for my friends, we didn't realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun! This friendship will last long and just like the lyrics of this song goes – I'm really gonna miss this place, I'm gonna miss my college days...

Undoubtedly DS ActEd has the best faculty. The knowledge our respected teachers share is simply amazing. The way Shah sir teaches, it seems that nothing is undoable. The extra information shared by him is what we all look forward to. He has his own unique way of teaching even a class full of shy students to turn into the most interactive lecture. No combination of words can describe the amount of respect and regards I have for him. Every lecture, I feel the knowledge sir has is endless. He is the Sachin Tendulkar of the actuarial world. He's just perfect.

Purnima ma'am's main aim is to make every child successful and that's the best part about her. The strict nature of Ma'am is also necessary for a principal to possess. Especially when Shah sir doesn't scold anyone, it becomes necessary for Ma'am to take care of the stuff.

I can't convey the impact our teachers have in our lives. DS ActEd has become my life in these 2 years. The attachment to everyone in this college is very high. Regarding the course structure, The basic idea of starting an undergraduate course in actuarial science in India itself is a big thing. Implementing it successfully is the result of the hard work and brains of our faculty. What can I say for something which has been developed by Shah sir. It has to be awesome.

Finding a person like Vaibhav Sir in a new city was such a nice thing. So much to learn from him. Such a simple person. So much knowledge he has yet he remains grounded. Treating all students like friends and helping in all the matters. Giving extra time to clear doubts. We can always talk to Vaibhav Sir regarding any thing without thinking much. The kind of relationship he maintains with every student is something very unique and very very useful for us. I remember our first lecture in DS was by Mayur Sir. When we were first introduced to him, I was astonished at the list of achievements he has. The respect for him is at the peak. The knowledge of practical world he shares is very useful. Feel so small to say anything for our teachers. They've worked so hard and achieved so much in their lives, I doubt if I will be able to do a fraction of that.

Our insurance ma'am is such a nice person. The best person I met in my life. Being so simple with such an amount of knowledge. Pure respect and regards for her.

My actuarial journey started with just one meeting with Purnima Mam. I had just gone to enquire about what actuarial science was and before I knew I joined DS Acted. Though it’s a full fledged college, its a perfect blend of a professional course and private coaching. I cannot write in words about Shah Sir. I have never met any professor with so much passion for teaching. He truly is the backbone of DS Acted. My Actuarial journey has become easier only because of the way we were taught the syllabus and the concepts by him. Thank you DS Acted for the constant support and guidance.

I am studying in DSACTED since more than six months! While doing my graduation in statistics I used to refer Professor R. J. Shah sir's book and now I am learning not only Statistics but all the Actuarial Subjects from him. It has been a great experience to learn from Prof. R. J. Shah Sir and multi talented 'an Actuary/CA/Prof. Mayur Ankolekar Sir! DS ActEd helps us in academics as well as in improving our leadership qualities, general awareness and many important things which will make our future life easier!

I am currently working as an Associate Consultant at Global Risk Consultants for more than two years now. Studying Masters in Actuarial Science at DS ActEd has provided me with a strong foundation in the actuarial world. Even though it was a big step for me coming from the UK after being there for six years, I always felt that I was taking a leap in the right direction. The teaching faculty at DS ActEd has not only been supportive but also very knowledgeable. They have helped me in every step of my laying the foundation of my actuarial dream. Prof. Shah has been instrumental in me being the fighter in the competitive actuarial field that it is today. The Masters course was evenly spread in four semesters so that there was never study pressure.

All the modules were taught by the expert professionals in their respective fields which made the studying even more enjoyable and interesting. The module teaching alongside the tutorial classes and home assignments helped me understand the actuarial modules very well. All in all, I'd say that I had a wonderful studying experience at DS ActEd and I'd strongly recommend any young students wanting to pursue in the actuarial field to choose DS ActEd.

College is a place where students have an opportunity to discover themselves. DS is a mine full of such opportunities which helps you to improve yourself overall. From participating in college events to organizing such events, it helped me to improve skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, creativity, etc. With the inception of Leo club of DS ActEd, students got a chance to contribute to the society as well. The teaching faculty of DS has played an important role in the success of students. Of them I liked the lectures of Shah Sir and Mayur Sir the most. Their teaching wasn’t just limited to the syllabus, they inspired us to explore for more knowledge. There’s a quote by Swami Vivekananda which goes as follows: “Arise! Awake! And stop not until the goal is reached.” This has been the mindset of the students of DS. Watching this dedication and willpower of our fellow students, to excel in their career, motivates me to give my best as well. Thanks a lot to DS for such a delightful experience.

There are really no words to express gratitude for all that DS has done for me. When I had taken the decision of entering this field I was unsure of it mostly because it’s said to be a difficult career option. However, under the guidance of Professor Rajendra Shah, Mayur Sir, Purnima Ma’am and Vaibhav Sir, nothing seemed so difficult. They are one of the finest teachers I have come across. From rigorous classroom training to chapter-wise home assignments, everything was perfect and helped me a lot to have a better understanding of the subjects. Having started My Actuarial Journey with DS ActEd there was a sense of relief and a feeling of conviction. Whenever we venture into a new space, something as important and long-lasting as our career, especially when not many people around us have taken that road, it can be a little intimidating initially, but if we have a support system and people as encouraging as everyone here at DS, our job becomes easier. Be it Purnima Ma'am for making sure that we all are going in the right direction and helping us prepare our life's first resume, to Vaibhav Sir who is always so accessible and just does not give the vibe of a typical teacher but a person who is literally there for us at any stage to help us with almost anything he can.

Also, the various subjects being taught by various professors who have spent time in this field and are extremely qualified to impart their knowledge to help us grow. There are people who are amazing at their job, there are people who are meant for their job but there hardly are people who are sheer Genius and passionate about their job. Without a doubt Shah sir falls in the third category, a walking talking encyclopaedia of Actuarial Science would be the perfect way to define him.

The amalgamative process here at DS ActEd really helped us to prepare for what's out there in the world for us. I would simply like to thank the whole team of DS ActEd in helping us prosper in our lives especially Shah Sir for being there when we were taking our first steps.

I've been a part of DS ActEd for the past 2 years, and my experience has been wonderful so far. This is the only college in Mumbai that offers an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science like in various international universities. This idea was the sole purpose for me to join DS ActEd, however, once I became a part of the college, I realized there are too many things that make me proud to be a student of this institution. Our faculty is the best one could expect; we're given rigorous practice to ace our exams along with great explanations to the subjects. I have expanded my horizons after joining DS ActEd because they don't just focus on the CTs but also on soft skills and on computer skills which are as essential as the academic perspective in the corporate world that we will enter. These special lectures give us an edge above the others in seeking jobs as well as in life in general. DS ActEd has made me believe that with enough hard work and practice, no success is unimaginable.

D S Actuarial Education Services has been a nurturing ground for me. Especially coming from a non-mathematical background, it was here that I first got introduced to the wonderful and intriguing world of Actuarial Science. Under the tutelage of Shah sir and other well-seasoned actuaries, I have explored the many areas and dynamics of the profession. Being a beginner, the lectures were very helpful in introducing the various complex concepts underlying the subjects in the CT series. The college is also a great platform to meet and be inspired by the veterans in the various branches of the industry. Meeting and hearing the success stories of the alumni helped me in preparing better for examinations and job interviews.

The friendship and bonding that I developed over the course of the two years that I studied here enabled me to create a strong professional network, which otherwise would have been difficult to achieve. On the occasions of the Diwan Memorial, I would like to extend my warm wishes and congratulations to Shah Sir and Purnima Ma'am for the many years of service rendered in enlightening the pathway of many students like me into the glorious field of Actuarial Science.

The name DS ActEd is enough to explain everything. I have gained a lot from specially professor Rajendra Shah's lectures. The way he thinks and solves different problems is just amazing. The most important of it all is the examples that he produces in the class not only help us remembering the concepts clearly but also builds our current affairs and exposes us to the difficulties faced in the profession of actuaries. A must mention is Mr. Mayur Ankolekar whose teaching is way above anything that we can expect from any other institution. Moreover there are tutorial sessions taken by Vaibhav Sir and assignments which immensely help us in the preparation process of the examinations. The Leo Club in the institute, which is managed by Mrs. Purnima Shah helps us in building leadership skills which is very vital in the long run. All in all DS ActEd is a great institute to study in and I feel privileged to have an opportunity to study here.

"Actuarial science, what is that? " would be the first thing that would come up whenever I used to tell my friends or family about my education. This statement is enough to tell everyone how much this field has been kept under the dark in the society. Under these circumstances, DS ActEd was like oasis in desert for all us actuarial aspirants. DS ActEd is not just an institution, but an experience! The format of distance education, but with classroom teaching gave us the best of both worlds. It wasn't a conventional college for us, which made it more special. There were students from different educational backgrounds as well as different states across India making it a truly cosmopolitan batch. The teachers mostly belonged to the industry and were true inspirations for us. The staff wouldn't be friendlier than this at any other place. I might just run out of words in expressing my experience with DS ActEd. Delivering speeches and organizing programs has boosted my leadership quality, the approachability towards others and certainly the inner confidence in me which indirectly aids me to be a better person. My experience with DS ActEd proved to be an exciting and inspirational one. Coming to DS was a big step for me as I had to sacrifice many other opportunities at my disposal. But I can fairly say that it has paid off well. DS has really made me push myself beyond my limits and capacity. Academically speaking, it has definitely taught me one thing that is perseverance. It is okay to fail in your initial attempts. What counts most is consistency and hard work. Apart from academics, the lecturers share a good rapport with the students. It has been an honour to be a part of DS ActEd. I got an opportunity to get trained by one of the most knowledgeable faculties. Rajendra Sir who taught us many subjects is an expert in Statistics. He is very understanding and patient, he would redo the topics until we were confident and would always be there to help. Mayur Sir is a gem of a person and an all rounder. I don't even have a count of the number of degrees he holds. You can talk to him on any topic and interestingly you would always end up with a lot more information. The coursework here covers a lot of topics apart from the main actuarial subjects which includes basics of life and general insurance, VB.net which gives a better understanding of the core subjects and helps professionally too. It is the best institute for actuarial science.

Purnima ma'am, she is one of the most supportive teacher you will ever encounter. She will help you , she will motivate you and if need be she will even scold you. Vaibhav sir, he is the best way to solve your actuarial problems. He can explain things with ease and as of now, I can say, the word 'patience' is the only thing that comes to my mind when I think of him. Bhavna ma‘am, sweet, kind and helpful. So, the faculty here is awesome and obviously the atmosphere. I personally have just one thing to say here, if we could have some sports events arranged, could be a complete package.
