Poster Making and Essay Writing Contest

Contest Terms and Conditions:

1. The contest is open to all students of schools within the Metro only.

2. The categories shall be:

For POSTER MAKING Contest:

3. Interested schools must submit the following:

5. Deadline of submission of entries is on/or before March 16, 2015. Only entries with complete requirements will be considered.

Poster Making Contest Mechanics:

1. Each student may submit ONE Entry only.

2. The poster must illustrate, interpret and emphasize the theme of: “Happy Mom, Happy Kids”

3. The following materials will be used in the contest:

A. ¼ illustration board (white background; in vertical or horizontal format)

B. Coloring material: oil pastel/cray-pas, markers, ink, oil, acrylic and watercolor, crayons. Please note that the use of other materials not specified above will result to automatic disqualification.

4. By participating in this contest, the artist/s grant (name of org) the right without the need of payment other than the prize which will be awarded: to use the artwork in its media, including but not limited to its website, marketing collaterals, or any published material. Any artwork selected to be used in that way would be done so with proper attribution to the artist.

5. Each artwork shall be evaluated according to:

a. 40% - Relevance to the theme

b. 35% - Artistry, Creativity, and Interpretation

c. 25% - Mastery on the use of medium

6. Winners will be announced on March 19, 2015. Cash prizes, medals and certificate will be given to individual winners, while a certificate will be given to the winning school.

Cash Prizes are as follows:

First Prize: P3,000

Second Prize: P2,000

Third Prize: P1,000

7. The judges’ decision is final and irrevocable.

8. Organizers reserve the right to nullify and/or cancel any part of the competition if it appears that any fraud ormalfunctions have occurred in any form or whatsoever.

Essay Contest Mechanics

1. Each student may submit ONE Entry only.

2. The essay must expound on a theme “Juana, Make it Happen: The Role of Women in Shaping the Youth of Today.”

3. All entries must follow the specifications below:

· Paper size: Short [Letter Size] bond paper

· Font style: Arial (title must be in bold text)

· Font size: 11

· Spacing: 1.5 space

· Alignment: Justified

· Margin: 1 inch margin on each side

4. Entries must be written in English and must have at least 1000 words.

5. All Entries must be original and previously unpublished.

6. By participating in this contest, the writer/s grant (name of org) the right without the need of payment other than the prize which will be awarded: to use the artwork in its media, including but not limited to its website, marketing collaterals, or any published material. Any essay selected to be used in that way would be done so with proper attribution to the writer.

7. Each essay shall be evaluated according to:

a. 60% - Relevance to the theme

b. 40% - Composition and Style

8. Winners will be announced on March 19, 2015. Cash prizes, medals and certificates will be given to individual winners, while a certificate will be given to the winning school.

First Prize: P3, 000

Second Prize: P2, 000

Third Prize: P1, 000
