Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan hasfulfilled a very important role in thecultural vitalization of the country. The need of the day is for ouryoungsters to appreciate all thegood things that India has. Ourculture, our language, our dance, our music, our compassion, ourfamily values. These are allextraordinary values. And BharatiyaVidya Bhavan through its programmeshas been able to communicate toour youngsters not just in India, butin New York, in London and inmany other cities as well…..

Secondly, I think BharatiyaVidya Bhavan has played a veryimportant role in communicating tothe society the importance of inclusiveprosperity. That is where the effortsof Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in openingits schools for slum children, inproviding opportunities to citizensat the bottom of the pyramid, inproviding high quality educationbecome extremely important….

enhancing the quality ofgovernance in the country byimpressing on the people theneed for following the modernideas combined very judiciouslywith the ideas that this greatcountry has brought to the forethrough its 4000 + years ofhistory. Therefore I would saythat Bharatiya Vidya Bhavanhas been extremely successfulin fulfilling a very importantrole in revitalizing the culturalheritage of India…

For the first time in the last300 years, India has become animportant player in the globalpolitical and economic activities. We have been offered the hightable in most multilateralplatforms. Therefore it isextremely important for ourcountry to communicate theheritage of India, to communicatewonderful cultural aspects ofIndia, the extraordinary historyof this country and thewonderful epics our countryhas produced to a largeraudience. And I think this is a

responsibility that only a welloiled organization likeBharatiya Vidya Bhavan canperform….

The need of the day isto strengthen our moral fibre.Somehow over the last 25-30years our moral fibre has becomeweaker and more weaker. Theethics of public governance havereceived the backseat. Thanksto the efforts of an extraordinaryinstitution like Bharatiya VidyaBhavan, we now have anopportunity to bring thosevalues to the front burner…..

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavantranscends the barriers oflanguage, caste, religion. It promotes the great values ofour culture and our heritage. Therefore I believe that it isextremely important for InfosysFoundation to continue to workwith Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan tobring solace to people at thebottom of the pyramid as wellas to bring the rural and urbanfolks together by a culturalcanvas that binds us together.

including like-mindedinstitutions.

Sri. Suresh was sure thatthe course is not only laudablebut will go a long way inhelping the less- abled, especially those in the weakersection of society. He advisedstudents who had received thecertificates, to put theirknowledge to good use bytraining those suffering fromsuch disabilities.

Earlier, after the invocationby Ms. Suparna Ghosh, Smt.Gayathri Krishna, Director,Brindavan Education Trustwho welcomed the gathering, highlighted the importance ofthe course and explained howthe Trust had taken four yearsto draft a suitable syllabus, scouting the faculty and givingpublicity to attract students toundergo the training.

Though the process hadbeen taxing, she said it was

successful and the first batchof students was on the way outafter passing the prescribedexamination.

Smt. Gayathri felt thatinstead of being handled by asingle institution as in the caseof the Trust, it is better tocollaborate with another likeminded institution as was beingdone with the Bhavan, which isequally concerned with childrensuffering from autism.

Principal S.N. Subba Raoof H.B. College, whileproposing a vote of thanks, described that the college hadalready been associating itselfin the direction of the SpasticSociety of Karnataka. It washappier to associate itself withthe Brindavan Education Trust.

He opined that the teachingprofession itself is noble andteaching children sufferingfrom autism Disorders isnobler still.
