Hydraulic fuid
Beore starting project planning, please reer to our data sheetsRE 90220 (mineral oil), RE 90221 (environmentally acceptablehydraulic uids) and RE 90223 (HF hydraulic uids) or detailedinormation regarding the choice o hydraulic uid and applica-
tion conditions.
The fxed pump A2FO is unsuitable or operation with HFA. IHFB, HFC and HFD or environmentally acceptable hydraulic u-ids are being used, the limitations regarding technical data andseals mentioned in RE 90221 and RE 90223 must be observed.
When ordering, please indicate the used hydraulic uid.
Operating viscosity range
For optimum efciency and service lie, select an operating vis-cosity (at operating temperature) within the optimum range o
opt = optimum operating viscosity 16 to 36 mm2/s
depending on the tank temperature (closed circuit) and tanktemperature (open circuit).
Limits o viscosity range
The limiting values or viscosity are as ollows:
Sizes 5 to 200:
min = 5 mm2/s,short-term (t < 3 min)at max. perm. temperature o tmax = +115C.
max = 1600 mm2/s,short-term (t < 3 min)
at cold start (p 30 bar, n 1000 rpm, tmin = -40C)Only or starting up without load. Optimum operatingviscosity must be reached within approx. 15 minutes.
Sizes 250 to 1000:
min = 10 mm2/s,short-term (t < 3 min)at max. perm. temperature o tmax = +90C.
max = 1000 mm2/s,short-term (t < 3 min)at cold start (p 30 bar, n 1000 rpm, tmin = -25C).Only or starting up without load. Optimum operating
viscosity must be reached within approx. 15 minutes.Note that the maximum hydraulic uid temperature o 115C(90C at size 250 to 1000) must not be exceeded locally either(e.g. in the bearing area). The temperature in the bearing areais - depending on pressure and speed - up to 12 K higher thanthe average case drain temperature.
Special measures are necessary in the temperature range rom-40C and -25C (cold start phase), please contact us.

Details regarding the choice o hydraulic fuid
The correct choice o hydraulic uid requires knowledge o theoperating temperature in relation to the ambient temperature: inan open circuit the tank temperature.
The hydraulic uid should be chosen so that the operating vis-cosity in the operating temperature range is within the optimumrange (opt.) - the shaded area o the selection diagram. Werecommended that the higher viscosity class be selected ineach case.
Example: At an ambient temperature o XC an operating
temperature o 60C is set. In the optimum operating viscosityrange (opt; shaded area) this corresponds to the viscosityclasses VG 46 or VG 68; to be selected: VG 68.
Please note:
The case drain temperature, which is aected by pressure andspeed, is always higher than the tank temperature. At no pointin the system may the temperature be higher than 115C orsizes 5 to 200 or 90C or sizes 250 to 1000.
I the above conditions cannot be maintained due to extremeoperating parameters, we recommend ushing the case at portU (size 250 to 1000).
Filtration
The fner the fltration, the higher the cleanliness level o the hy-draulic uid and the longer the service lie o the axial piston unit.
To ensure unctional reliability o the axial piston unit, the hy-draulic uid must have a claenliness level o at least
20/18/15 according to ISO 4406.
At very high hydraulic uid temperatures (90C to max. 115C ,not permitted or sizes 250 to 1000) at least cleanliness level
19/17/14 according to ISO 4406 is required.

Shat seal ring
Permissible pressure loading
The service lie o the shat seal ring is aected by the speed othe pump and the case drain pressure. It is recommended that
the average, continuous case drain pressure at operating tem-perature 3 bar absolute not be exceeded (max. permissible casedrain pressure 6 bar absolute at reduced speed, see diagram).Short term (t < 0.1 s) pressure spikes o up to 10 bar absoluteare permitted. The service lie o the shat seal ring decreaseswith an increase in the requency o pressure spikes.
The case pressure must be equal to or greater than the exter-nal pressure on the shat seal ring.

When considering the permissible axial orce, the orce-transer direction must be taken into account:

Minimum immersion depth o leakage line in tank:200 mm (relative to the min. uid level in the tank).
Additional measures required or installation position 2 (shatacing up): with installation position 2, make sure that thepump case is completely ull beore starting up. Bleed atport R (sizes 10 to 200) resp. U (sizes 250 to 1000). An airpocket in the bearing area is leading to damage o the axialpiston pump.

Installation notesGeneral
The pump case must be completely flled up with hydraulic uid during startup and during operation (flling the case chamber). Thepump must be started up at low speed and no load until the system has been bled completely.
I stopped or an extended period, uid may drain out o the case through the service lines. When restarting, make sure that thecase contains sufcient uid.
The leakage uid inside the case chamber must be drained o to the tank through the highest case drain port. The min. suctionpressure at port S must not all below 0,8 bar absolute (see page 4).

Additional measures or installation positions 1 and 2:

Putting a non-return valve (opening pressure 0,5 bar) inthe leakage line can prevent the system emptying through
