Award News

Renaissance Heavy Industries has been engaged as a general contractor for the turnkey construction of the CPP-3 copper processing plant for the Almalyk MMC JSC in Uzbekistan. RHI will sign two contracts: for design and engineering work until the end of 2020, and for the supply of turnkey equipment.

On May 26, 2020, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan signed a decree “On additional measures to expand the production of non-ferrous and precious metals based on the deposits of Almalyk MMC” no. PP-4731. Its purpose is to increase the production and export potential of the plant, introducing the most advanced technologies in the development of mining and processing of raw minerals.

The project for the development of the Yeshlik-I field is planned to be implemented in two stages. In the 1st stage (2020–24)

it is planned to build an open pit at the Yeshlik-I deposit and a processing plant, CPP-3, with a capacity of 60 million tons of ore per year. As a result of this first stage, the volume of cathode copper produced by the plant from local raw materials will be increased from 108,000 tons to 290,000 tons, gold from 15 tons to 38 tons, and silver from 96 tons to 203 tons.

In the 2nd stage (2021–25) it is planned to increase and reconstruct the production capacity of the copper smelter.

RHI has started construction of CPP-3. Infrastructure and roads necessary for the construction of the factory are being built. In addition, 1.3 million cubic meters of earthworks were completed as part of the construction of the factory.

New From The Sites

An awards ceremony was held for the outstanding performance of welders working on the Simple Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plant construction project, the construction of which continues in the Charjev district, Lebap region, Turk-menistan.

At the ceremony, which was attended by project management and welding group, the importance of achieving the targets and the quality of welding was mentioned. Three welders whose work was deemed to be particularly good were rewarded with certificates.

“IN HSE, THERE IS NO YESTERDAY, THERE IS TODAY.” DESPITE COVID-19, 10 M MAN-HOURS ACHIEVED WITHOUT LTI / RUSSIAWe are pleased to announce the achievement of a significant HSE milestone: 10,000,000 safe man-hours without a lost time incident (LTI). During the project lifecycle, the AGPP Project has exceeded this milestone twice in a row. Firstly, 12,238,815 safe man-hours without an LTI was achieved last October 2019, followed by the more recent date of April 20, 2020.

A small ceremony was held in order to share it with all Renaissance family members as the memory of the day. While going through these difficult days, we are all very busy protecting ourselves and each other against the COVID-19 epidemic, and we are suffering its effects in HSE management as well. That’s why this crucial period makes this achievement even more noteworthy.

The Garagum hotel project, which is being built in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, has reached two million man-hours without any lost time incidents (LTIs).

In accordance with its name, the hotel building will embody the architectural image of “Garagum” — one of the unique natural attractions of Turkmenistan.

The smooth contours of the central part of the building, with golden glazing and two side buildings, resemble sand waves. A yurt will emphasize the national flavor.

At the Nusay Hotel Project, which is under construction in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, a total of 4,000,000 man-hours were exceeded in 638 days without any lost time incidents (LTIs).

Currently, the project has 77% progress.

At the Gas Turbine Power Plant Project, which is under construction in the Charjev district of Lebap region, Turkmenistan, a total of 1,000,000 manhours was exceeded in

471 days without any lost time incidents (LTIs). A celebration was held at the project site in connection with the Zero Incident Achievement.

MANLIFT TRAINING PROGRAM / RUSSIA

MULTI-PURPOSE GARAGUM HOTEL WITH BUSINESS CENTER ATTRACTS SPECIAL ATTENTION / TURKMENISTAN

Safe Manlift Operation training was conducted with more than 500 employees between August 2019 and June 2020 at the AGPP project. The training provided to the operators was aimed at evaluating their abilities and training them in tasks associated with the risks they will encounter while working in or near restricted areas. Accordingly, RHI HSE department designed and erected a practical training area which is similar

to pipe rack modules. The training consists of technical and practical sessions and takes three days to complete. At the end, only those who have passed both an exam and a practical test are permitted to operate the man-lifts.

On May 25, 2020, Ashgabat City Municipality and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan organized the 19th International Exhibition, “White City-Ashgabat”.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Head of Mejlis, members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, representatives of ministries and departments, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, public organizations and residents of Ashgabat.

This traditional forum serves as a platform for demonstrating the achievements and prospects of development of the capital

of Turkmenistan in the field of urban planning, and to determine priority cooperation areas in this field. RHI displayed its current and completed projects that fit harmoniously into the modern look of Ashgabat.

Among our company’s projects, visitors were especially interested in the Garagum Multipurpose Hotel with Business Center. This project stands out due to its unusual design and versatility, which will allow it to confidently claim the title of a landmark in the city of Ashgabat.

THE BAŞAKŞEHİR ÇAM & SAKURA CITY HOSPITAL IS READY FOR PATIENT ADMISSION / TURKIAThe Başakşehir Çam & Sakura (Cherry Blossoms) City Hospital, which was jointly built by Rönesans Healthcare Investment and Japan’s Sojitz, in a record-breaking period of only 32 months, was opened in an official ceremony on May 21. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended in person, and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe through video conferencing.

The hospital, which has already been registered as the world’s largest seismically isolated building, has 2,068 seismic isolators installed in its main building. It aims to provide the healthcare needs not only of the people of Istanbul, but also of its neighboring regions. It has an indoor area of more than one million square meters, to serve 32,700 patients each day.
