PARCCs core belief is that assessments should work as a tool for enhancing teaching and learning. Claims Design begins with the inferences (claims) we want to make about students Evidence In order to support claims, we must gather evidence Task Models Tasks are designed to elicit specific evidence from students in support of claims Performance Based Assessment (PBA) Students demonstrate understanding of texts and standards Students will craft 3 Writing Samples ALL GRADES, EVERY YEAR KEY: PBA includes writing & reading End of Year Assessment (EOY) Students will demonstrate understanding of texts and standards KEY: EOY includes reading only Performance Based Assessment (PBA) End-of-Year Assessment (EOY) 75% of School Year Students garner points towards WRITING & READING score Students will complete 3 EVERY GRADE: Narrative, Literary Analysis, and Research. 90% of School Year Students garner points towards READING ONLY. PARCC ELA/Literacy Summative Assessment items will measure multiple standards and multiple evidences.
