    I. COURSE NUMBER AND TITLE, CATALOG DESCRIPTION, CREDITS:

    MAN 2021 MANAGEMENT PRINCIPLES (3 CREDITS)

    This course presents basic management principles and theory, including the history,

    progress and functions of management. The relation of management principles tooperations and the management process in business are emphasized.

    III. GENERAL COURSE INFORMATION: Topic Outline.

    This is an Introductory Course Designed as an Overview of the Theory andPractice of Management

    Management will be Presented as a Discipline, as well as a Process The Evolution on Management The Basic Management Functions (Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling) Ethical Issues, Cultural Diversity and Quality Management

    VI. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE STUDENTS:All assigned textbook readings, tests, and assignments are to be completed by thepublished due date. Late assignments will not be accepted and any missedassignments will result in a zero for the assignment. Please refer to the classschedule and calendar for due dates and times.

    This class utilizes Canvas, Edisons learning management tool. All assignmentdescriptions and rubrics are found through Canvas. Students will submit allassignments through Canvas and will receive grades and feedback from theinstructor through Canvas.

    VII. ATTENDANCE POLICY:

    Attendance is mandatory for this course and is a critical component to success. Eachweek, a participation grade will be awarded based on attendance and participation inclass discussions and activities.
