H O W T O G E T S TA R T E D

1.Begin your drawing with contour lines, just looking for the large shapes the folds create

2.Use your charcoal or pastels to look for large shapes of value (highlight areas, mid tone areas and shadows)

3.Look at the edges of each fabric fold and explore how they change in value and color

4.Decide on a focal point, and explore how you can use your fabric folds to lead the viewer towards the focal point
