Summary of Gathering BlueGathering Blue ,by Lois Lowry inspires readers to never

give up hope . To begin with, Kira’s mother dies from a disease and their cabin is burned to the ground. While watching her mother’s spirit drift away, Vandara plans to drive Kira out of her land and to kill her. After a lot of arguing, they go to the Council of Edifice, Kira is chosen to live there and to thread the robe of the singer. Later on, she meets Thomas and together they keep each other company while working. A couple weeks later, Kira is brought to Annabelle, an old lady that knows all about threads, to learn more about threads. Then, Annabelle dies and so Kira and Thomas find Jo, a tyke that has been locked up at the Council of Edifice. After finding Jo, Matt, a friend of Kira’s goes missing. During a meeting , Matt finds Kira’s father (who has been missing all of Kira’s life and has made Kira believe that he has died) and brings him to her, proving that he was not killed.

Before Kira’s mother died she had almost every thread that she could possibly need, except for a blue. So when Kira was brought to live with the Guardians and Matt went missing he was actually looking for something blue and while he was looking he found her dad and brought him to her.
