    C A L E N D A R 31 August - HSC Drama Practical Marking

    3 September - Year 7 Vaccinations 10 September - RUOK Day

From The PDHPE Faculty Hello from the PDHPE team,

It has been a busy start to Term 3 with our Year 12 PDHPE sitting their Trial HSC Examinations, and some Covid restrictions eased in the at-school activities we have been able to offer in our practical programs. The Year 12 Sport Lifestyle & Recreation (SLR) students are working on an Individual Sports Unit to finish off their senior studies.

Our Year 11 cohort is extremely busy with our faculty running Community and Family Studies (CAFS) and PDHPE and the approaching end of year examinations. We also have two SLR classes and an Exploring Early Childhood (EEC) class in Year 11 who are currently working on Coaching and Children's Party Planning topics respectively.

With the days warming up, we have had some great opportunities to get outside with our Year 7-10 core subjects doing Basketball, Volleyball, Offside Touch, AFL, Soccer, Dance, and Netball depending on which grade they are in. Theory topics include Healthy Lifestyles (Year 7), Relationships (Year 8), Road Safety (Year 9), and Risky Situations (Year 10).

Our Junior Electives have seen us run Child Studies (Year 9) for the first time, where students have done some amazing work on making a model nursery.

In Year 9 and Year 10 Physical Activity & Sport Studies students have been participating in Badminton, Oztag, Slider-Hockey and various forms of Cricket.

It has been a challenging few months with the changing Covid restrictions, but staff and students alike have responded amazingly. John Eakin PDHPE Faculty
