COVID-19 POSITION STATEMENT

BENCHING AND WET WEATHER ACCOMMODATION

The Government has announced the lifting of all limits on social contact and how many

people can meet in any setting.

The risks from COVID-19 have not disappeared and people need to manage the risks to

themselves and to others as the country learns to live with the virus.

Importantly, it remains a legal requirement for people to self-isolate if they test positive or are

told to do so by NHS Test and Trace.

Individuals may choose to limit the close contact they have with those they do not usually live

with to reduce the risk of catching or spreading COVID-19, particularly if they are clinically

extremely vulnerable.

It is important to respect and be considerate to those who may wish to take a more cautious

approach.

The Government is continuing to monitor data to ensure there is no danger of the NHS facing

unsustainable pressure and will review the Coronavirus Act and remaining regulations in the

early autumn to consider which requirements need to continue thereafter.

The Society will respect the right of individuals to choose whether to wear face masks etc.

and will continue to observe any restrictions which remain applicable after 19th July and/or

which may be introduced prior to the date of the show.

The Officers and Committee have been unable to source the tentage required to provide

covered benching areas and wet weather rings at the Society's show to be held at Loseley

Park on 10-12 September 2021. The Kennel Club has granted The Society exemption from

the requirement under Regulation F(1)3 to provide benching. as required by Regulation

F(1)4, and wet weather accommodation for this show.

The layout of the showground has been modified to provide designated areas where

exhibitors may erect gazebos, tents and/or fishing type umbrellas subject to the following

conditions: -

1. They are erected, maintained, dismantled, and transported within the precincts of the

show in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

2. Persons using this facility shall indemnify the Society against any loss/damage

occurring as a result of erecting, maintaining, dismantling, and/or transporting such

structures within the precincts of the show.

3. Richmond Dog Show Society reserves the right to refuse permission to erect and/or

require removal of such structures at its absolute discretion.
