‘My Wants’• Think about the things you want out of life• Writing down your ‘Wants’ can make them

more attainable.

S.M.A.R.T S –stands for Specific –You should be clear about what you want to happen

Not Specific: I want to get good grades

Specific: I want to gain at least 3 Distinctions by May 26th 2014

M –stands for measurable –You should be able to track your goal

Not Measurable: I want to lose weight

Measurable: I want to lose 2 pounds in 2 weeks

A –stands for Achievable – Don’t set your self up for failure.

Unachievable: Learn to speak fluent French within a month

Achievable: Learn to speak some basic French with a month

R –stands for Realistic –Can you achieve these goals? Is it doable?

Unrealistic: I want to score 50 goals in one football game

Realistic: I want to make 5 goals out of the 12 I attempt at the football game on Friday

T –Timely –You should set a timeframe for your goal

No time: I want to learn to play the piano

Time: I want to learn to play “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the piano by June 3rd
