The circuit will be Brandsby Crayke, the finish line will be on Crayke Lane before the junction with

west lane

Traffic management will be provided by Community TM to provide temporary closures to allow safe

racing,

1.3 Head Quarters

Brandsby is a small village 15 miles North of York, easily accessible from A19. As you head north

through the village the HQ is sign posted (village hall) turn left, then the village hall is the next left.

1.4 Rules and regulation

The race will be sanctioned by and conducted under the rules of British Cycling Technical Regulations

(BC).

1.5 Points

The Women’s Race is Regional C+ and the men National B; therefore the relevant point will be

available.

Women Road Race Top 10 places will be awarded British Cycling points, Men Race Top 20 places

The following BUCS Points will be available will be available for the top 4 position 12, 8, 6, 4

1.6 Kit.

Please wear your official University cycling kit

1.8 Refreshments

Catering will be provided at HQ, however to the best of my knowledge there is no cash point locally

so please remember to bring some with you

1.9 Important notes for riders

Please use the toilets provide, please resist using the local hedges

Please take all rubbish with you, do not drop rubbish on the course

NO HELMET – NO LIENCE – NO RIDE

2. Circuit Racing

Parking & Warming up

Please use the Event Car Parking at per venue signage, do not park in the main Sport Village car park.

Beware of buses as there is a regular service during the event.

The circuit will be open for practice from 9.00 (Riders must be signed on before they enter the

circuit) sign on open from 8.30.

Please note the changed schedule, this has been altered to maximise field size, whilst maintaining

the entries as best as possible, all the women races have been combined and for the men see the

table below to help find your entry

2.2 Circuit

The circuit is a 1020m long purpose built circuit at the York Sport Village, University of York. The

circuit was opened in May 2013 jointly funded by British Cycling, City if York Council & University of

York.

2.3 Race Numbers (Make sure the judges can see your number)

2.4 Lapped Riders

Lapped riders will be pulled out of the race

with 5 laps to go, they must not contest any

Primes or influence the outcome of the race,

any rider doing this will be pulled out

immediately by the commissaire team.

2.5 Retirements/DNFs

Should any riders retire from the race, they

must report to a Commissaire or finishing

judge immediately. Please do not ride in the

opposite direction to the race.

2.6 Crashes & Mechanical Incidents

Riders will be allowed a lap out for crashes or mechanical incidents and must report to the pit area

to take their lap out. Any rider not returning to the pits will be placed one lap down. Laps out are

only permitted until 5 laps to go. Riders must complete the course to take their lap out. Any rider

taking a short cut back to the pit area will be relegated. Riders must get back to the pits before the

bunch passes the rider otherwise that is their lap out gone. Laps riders will rejoin the race in the

same position they took the lap out.

2.6 Appeals

Appeals must be lodged in writing within thirty minutes of the stage results being posted and must

be addressed to the Chief Commissaire. All appeals require the completion of the official form and

deposit of £25 cash, to be handed to the race jury via the Chief Commissaire this will be returned

should the appeal be successful.

2.7 Race Conduct

Riders are reminded that the following infringements may result in a fine or relegation:

Not being in full control of their machine – e.g. taking both hands of the bars at the end of a race

Littering – gel wrappers, energy bar wrappers

Warm Up – Warming up on the course during another race

Calls of Nature - Please use the toilets provided, next to the sign on

Feeding – No feeding (passing bottles up) will be permitted during an event but riders can start with

food and drink to last the duration.

2.8 Results + Points

Our aim is to publish Provisional Results as quickly as possible, podium places will be issued within

30 minutes of each race. Full results with 60 minutes, please see the event results board. Results

will also appear on www.britishcycling.org.uk

No BUCS points available, However BC points are available in all races

Open Monday-Friday 9am-8pm

Saturday-Sunday 9am-6pm

2.10 Important Notes

Please use the car parks provided

NO warming up on the lower road – This is buses only!

NO HELMET – NO LIENCE – NO RIDE
