The good news is, that we will have all that gas available when they reopen. If you believe that, then you need a refresher course in economics. To wit, the price of gasoline is "controlled" by the U.S. Government, and a phase-in period has been announced where by these controls will be gradually lifted, until in 1981 the price will be set by the market. Now common sense tells us that gradual decon trol persuades everybody that prices will be higher tomorrow, so everyone concerned, from oil com pany to service station to the individual motorist, acts to make whatever shortage there might actually be, worse, by topping off his supply. July 1979 I feel that our only hope for an adequate supply is for the govern ment to follow the advice of Nobel prizewinner Milton Friedman as offered in Newsweek, to scrap price controls immediately, which action would cause the oil shortage to disappear "tomorrow." Now surely, you say. President Carter and his top economic advisors realize this, so Carter's upcoming energy message will contain the recommendation that these controls be lifted immediately. THE OPEN ROAD...IT STILLBECKONS.

Hit the RoadPorche,AudlOP VolhswageoRememtsef the way it used to be?You'd buy a car because you really loved todrive. Your machine trad a little better performance than your neighbor's car. It was a pleasure tohit the throttle and get moving. And Handle? Howoften did you take that back-road turn a wee bit fasterthan normal just to feel the response as you cranked thesteering wheel over hard left? Yes, those were the days. And those still ARE the days!If you're tired of dragging that gas guzzler down the highway, come into Holbert's and test drive a Volkswagen. Porsche or Audi.We think you'll be pleasantly surprised to find performance, fueleconomy and creature comfort all wrapped into our superbly engineered motor cars.

THE OPEN ROAD ... IT STILL BECKONS.And at Holbert's . . . We'll put some fun back into your driving.
