Centennial Concert S E R I E S
The City of Rifle is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Centennial Concert Series! Join us as we continue this new tradition for Rifle, Colorado. The series has received so much support that we've extended the schedule from the previous four concerts to a total fourteen for the 2012 series! This year's series is sponsored by Alpine Bank, with contributing sponsors: Rifle Visitor Improvement Fund, Brendenmann Foundation and Grand River Hospital District. A variety of bands will be playing throughout the series with a Special Concert on July 3rd presented by
the Brendenmann Foundation featuring Symphony in the Valley! Activities for the family will be held in the park and the night will end with Rifle's own Fireworks Display! We welcome the community to enjoy this free event. Kick up your heels to the variety of music and explore local commerce from the merchants at the Centennial Market, all in Rifle's Centennial Park!

RIFLE RECREATION is located on the lower level of City Hall, 202 Railroad Ave. Office hours are usually 8 AM-5 PM, Monday-Fri-day. If you cannot make these hours, please call and we will set something up. Because we are a small department, we are not in the of-fice at all times. Rifle Recreation is commit-ted to supporting the AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT. Please call us if you require special assistance for participation in our programs.
Deadlines
Why does Rifle Recreation have deadlines?
Why does Rifle Recreation charge late fees?
Why does Rifle Recreation register so early for sports activities?
Why can’t we add another child to a full team?
We receive these questions often, especially after deadlines have passed.
Deadlines are set so we have time to organize activities. Most deadlines are set a week before an activity begins. Usually, these activities need just a head count so we have
proper staffing.
Some activities we have our deadlines over a month before the activity starts, such as youth baseball. The reason the registration deadline is so early is because we need to complete the following before the season begins:
Split players up into teamsOrder uniformsMeet with the other towns to make game schedulesMake sure we have enough coachesMake sure we have enough sponsors for the teamsMake sure we have enough equipment for each of the teamsHave a coaches meeting to schedule practices
Why do we charge a late fee?
The foremost reason is to have participants register on time. After a deadline has passed, we need to do extra work for a new participant to be enrolled such as:
Ordering an extra uniform. This costs us more after our initial order, we save money with bulk orders
Ordering extra equipment
Contacting the coach or instructor with the new information, since rosters have usually been distributed
Rifle Recreation puts limits on the amount of children on a team for the following reasons:
Extra players on teams effect all participants playing time
Kid management (the more kids, the harder it is for the volunteer coaches)
Equipment (we make sure there is enough equipment, i.e. basketballs, for each child)
To avoid these hassles, register before the reg-istration deadline. Take a look at the Activity Registration Dates page
