ModuSpec has carried out over 5000 inspection surveys world wide.
ModuSpec also holds workshops in rig inspections.
Rig Inspection Workshops introduce oilfield staff how to perform a structured inspection of rigs.
By having more trained eyes on site, more potential safety and operational issues can be identified.
Once identified, these can be removed.

The Aim of the Rig Inspection Workshop (RIW) is:• To have the candidates visually inspect a rig,
independently. • To enable the candidates to carry out
inspections of critical areas.• To ensure they inspect to international rules and
standards.• To be able to evaluate maintenance standards
on the unit.

The RIW core is to:• Ensure internationally recognised standards of
safety and inspection are understood.• Ensure that the maintenance of equipment is
satisfactory to reduce failures and down time.• Give understanding of the requirements for
observation of equipment and operations.• Provide an introduction to well control
equipment maintenance.• Introduce the safety implications of electrical
equipment on the rig site.

The RIW is a 4 or 5 day classroom training containing:• Exams to document the improvement in candidates’
knowledge.• Photographs and diagrams used to illustrate points.• Content controlled and monitored by IADC.• IADC certification for successful candidates.

What do we look at?
The RIW (Land rig, Platforms and Jack-ups) chapters are:• Chapter 01 – Drilling equipment• Chapter 02 – Mud processing equipment• Chapter 03 – Engine room and power plant• Chapter 04 – Electrical equipment• Chapter 05 – Safety equipment• Chapter 06 – Marine equipment• Chapter 07 – Well control equipment• Chapter 08 – Appendices

courses.
