Right Focus, Right Thinking, Right Results "For A Balanced Life"

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it,

Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Matthew 22:37-39


• Purpose - having a right focus gives us a clear perception and understanding of what God has called us to do. • The call of God comes with a purpose in order for us to find our

destiny.

• Focus - is a state or a condition permitting a clear perception or understanding. To concentrate or to fix one’s attention on something important.

(Merriam Webster Dictionary)


A clear picture produces right thinking.

Right thinking moves us toward right results.

Right results gives us the balance needed in our life.


• Balance - is something that will keep us in a steady position moving forward so that we don’t fall back into a slump. • Five areas of focus are needed to

maintain balance.

1. Worship 2. Serving 3. Evangelism 4. Fellowship 5. Discipleship

WORSHIP: • Love the Lord thy God with all thine

heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. • When we love God with our whole being

we will first worship him. • Remember the mind is the gateway to

our soul and spirit. “As a man thinks in heart so is he”.


WORSHIP: The mind is the battle ground: because the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to pull down strong holds; We demolish argument and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to CHRIST.



WORSHIP: • When we focus on the area of love for God, we think about why

we were created for God’s pleasure. • Our worship shows God that we love him with all of our heart,

soul and mind. • God is looking for those who will worship him in spirit and in

truth. • This is the first and greatest commandment “… To love God.” • The first thing that we should learn is to love God with our whole

being.

WORSHIP: • Why do we learn to worship him first? • Because we are his priest who must offer up

spiritual sacrifices that please him because of Jesus Christ. • We are his chosen people, his kingdom priest, a

holy nation, his very own possession. So we can show others the goodness of God for he called us out of darkness into his wonderful light. • (1Peter 2:5,6,9)



WORSHIP: • Our witness to others is what God has done

for us. • Each believer has a testimony about what

God has delivered him from. • God found Moses on the back side of the

desert. Moses ran away from Egypt because he was a murderer. • After Moses became a true worshipper of

God, he became a leader over Israel.


WORSHIP: • Abraham was called out of

idolatry. • He learned to become a

worshipper of God. • Abraham’s calling on his life led

him to become the father of many nations.

• Your purpose is connected to your testimony.


SERVING • Love your neighbors as we love

ourselves: these two encompass all the laws of the prophets. • God shaped us to serve others; we

show our love for others by our service. All of the ten commandments taught us how to love God and man. • Our focus should be on how much we

love ourselves.


SERVING • If we don’t know how to love, how

can we love others. • We have to know how to appreciate

and respect our needs in order to respect and appreciate others and their needs. • Look at how God connected loving

our neighbor to loving ourselves, “That is balance.”

SERVING • The fivefold ministry teaches us

how to serve. • Serving builds the body of Christ. • Every joint of the body should

supply service. • When we serve one another

according to our gifting, the whole body will be healthier and grow in love.


EVANGELISM

• We have the commission “To Go” • (Matthew 28:19-20)

• The Great Commission: To Go and make disciples of men.

• This is called evangelism for the entire church. • Be an ambassador for Christ and reconcile men back

to God. • Sharing the commission is “God’s love in Action”.


EVANGELISM

• The apostles thought about how to be an ambassador for Christ and reconcile men back to God.

• They developed an action plan which brought results: Five thousand got saved! Then eight thousand got saved! The more we share, the more God saves!


FELLOWSHIP: • We were formed to be a family. • Family gives us the right to fellowship with

one another. • The saved believer will identify with the

church as their family. They will come to them to be fixed and cared for. • The church is empowered to: • fix brokenness and hurts. • help people overcome barriers in life.


FELLOWSHIP:

• The CGN (Care Group Network) was formed to help bring healing to people lives. As long as they are in fellowship with others the healing process begins. Love others as we love ourselves. When we learn to treat others the way we want to be treated we have “Balance”.


DISCIPLESHIP: • Making Disciples of Men • We have in place a teaching system that

will help the whole body to move in the same direction. • Now I beseech you brethren, by the name

of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind, and in the same judgment (1Cor.1:10 KJV).

SUMMARY

In order for the church to move in the same direction we all have to follow the same rules that will bring balance in all of our lives and cause the blessings to flow. For lo I am with you always even to the ends of the age (Matthew 28:20). We need balance in: worship, serving, evangelism, fellowship, and in making disciples of others. Let us make this a practice to serve God in every area of our life!

Obedience brings balance and blessings!
