Mobility Rights

Canadians are allowed to move freely within the country.

Canadians also have the right to enter and remain in Canada.

Legal Rights

Everyone has the right to a fair trial. Everyone is innocent until proven

guilty. The police should have reasonable

grounds for searching you or your home.

Equality Rights

Every person is equal under the law and has the right to equal protection and benefit of the law without discrimination based on race, nationality, or ethnic origin, color, religion, gender, age, or mental or physical disability.

Aboriginal Rights

Aboriginal people of Canada have rights that are protected in Canada’s constitution. These include rights for hunting, fishing, culture and land title. These rights are protected by law because aboriginal people enjoyed them before Europeans came to Canada.
