The Reliance Group, founded by Dhirubhai H. Ambani (1932-2002), is India's largest private sector enterprise.

The flagship company, Reliance Industries Limited, is a Fortune

Global 500 company and is the largest private sector company inIndia.

Group's activities span exploration and production of oil and gas,petroleum refining and marketing, petrochemicals (polyester,

fibre intermediates, plastics and chemicals), textiles, retail andspecial economic zones ± Backward Integration.

Largest polyester yarn and fibre producer in the world.



Journey So Far««.

y Result of amalgamation between two companies named Mynylon Ltd &RelianceTextiles IndustriesLimited on 1st July 1975.

y Went Public with IPO on 23rd Jan, 1977.

y 1992: Raised funds by pioneering foray into overseas capital markets

with first ever international GDR offering by an Indian corporate.y 1993: Reliance Petroleum Limited public issue - India's largest public

offering.

y 1995: Net profit crossed the Rs 1,000 crore mark.

y 1996-97: First corporate in Asia to issue 50 and 100 years bond in US

debt market.y 1999-2000: Jamnagar Petrochemicals complex and bulk of integrated

refinery complex commissioned.

y Has acquired many small companies and has also entered into jointventures for technology etc. in its journey.



Recent Milestones:

2011:

BP to buy 30% in R IL and form a joint venture.

2010:

Haryana Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Reliance Industries (R IL) hasroped in a partner.

2009:

26th Nov ± Bonus Issue« 1:1.29.09.2009 ( Record Date) ± Merger of R IL & RPL« swap ratio 1:16.

With the commissioning of the new refinery in its Special EconomicZone (SEZ), Jamnagar has now become the petroleum hub of theworld. With 1.24 Million Barrels Per Day (MBPD) of nominal crude

processing capacity.

� To study the effect of the bonus issue on marketprice

� To study the effect of the Merger on the marketprice.

� To study the dividend payout policy & its effecton market price.

y Collect data from R IL site, Capitaline, etc.

y Study Debt Equity ratio for last 10 years - capitalstructure. Also calculate WACC.

y Effect on Market Price of Share due to variousactivities of company such as dividend policy, bonusissues and mergers.
