- “GET LINED UP!”- Strength Call (LB’s and DB’s)- LB’s Mike) make sure 3-tech and 1-tech are aligned properly

- Attack LOS- We must “Wrong Shoulder/Spill” everything - Force Turnovers

DEFENSIVE LINE

Our success depends on DL attacking LOS

- Crowd the LOS - Proper Stance: Inside foot back (slight stagger) “Power Step”

- 3-pt or 4-pt stance - Don’t catch and read, ATTACK AND REACT!- “GET OFF” on movement (man or ball)- “Whip the guy in front of you!” (Cave Down Blocks, “Trap the Trapper”,

Chase Pullers, Squash Base Blocks)

OLB’s

- Recognize Formation (Proper Alignment)- Make Calls- Know Your Pass-Coverage Assignment- Read High Hat/Low Hat of End-Man LOS for Run/Pass Trigger- Wrong Shoulder and Spill all Blocks

Formation Recognition

DB’s and LB’s recognize formations and make adjustments

- Know Alignment, Assignment, and Technique in all coverages- Safeties recognize what’s on your side of the ball - COMMUNICATE!

- i.e. Single wide, twins, 3-wides, TE trips, TE only, TE/Flanker, OT only, OT eligible(TE), PODS, QUADS, etc.

- Make “TRUMP CALLS” (Special or unusual formations that may require us to check out of our Base defense)
