Tombstone Ring Toss GameCreate a spooky cemetery scene on a heavy cardboard surface using the Perler pieces and your favorite props. Glue or velcro your pieces in place.

Determine where the player must stand to play. Assign points for successfully ringing the various objects:

• 10 points for either of the small tombstones

• 30 points for the skull tombstones

• 40 points for the RIP tombstone

• 50 points for either of the zombie hands alone

• 100 points for the tree monster top or arms

• Hit the gates at all, you lose all your points!

Tree Monster: The main part of the tree monster is created on two square pegboards assembled as shown at right. Cut out these two patterns and tape them together in the same way.

Rings: Using the same pattern, make 9 rings in the color combinations. The first color listed is for the outside, the second color is for the inside.

1. Place your pegboard on a flat, heat-safe surface.

2. Set a household iron to the medium setting. Place ironing paper over the pegboard. In a circular motion, begin to iron the project. Do not press down with the iron. As the beads begin to fuse, you will see circles of the beads start to show through the paper. When ironed properly, the beads will still have an open center. Let the design cool.

3. Remove the paper and bead design from the peg board. Flip the design over to expose the non-fused side. Repeat step two. Let cool completely.

NOTE: Beads need heat for about 10-20 seconds per side to fuse evenly. Lift the paper occasionally to see how the beads are fusing. Depending on the size of the project, additional heating time may be required. DO NOT OVER-IRON the beads as it will make the centers of the beads close and can make the assembly you do with your project more challenging.

Assemble the tombstones and gates by inserting the upright portion into the base. For the skull tombstone, also insert the candles into each base. For the small tombstones with the cross, insert the zombie hands into each base.

On the tree monster, glue each of the arms to the trunk as indicated by the pink dots on the diagram.

Insert the trunk into the base as shown.
